Finding Georgia Rose

Prologue

Georgie couldn’t believe that her uncle was able to get her and her best friend into the costume party of the century. Simon Cowell’s costume parties were legendary in London and anyone who was anyone came to these parties. Georgie and her best friend spent hours picking what they were going to wear to this party once Georgie’s uncle told them they had tickets to this. It was a masquerade theme party and Georgie couldn’t be more excited. She absolutely loved these types of parties and was always willing to go in her uncle’s place since he wasn’t much of a party goer.

“Your uncle is amazing Georgie!” Olivia, Georgie’s best friend, gushed, “I’m pretty sure I’ve talked to about twelve different famous people.”

“I’m glad you’re having fun Liv,” Georgie smiled at her friend of the last five years.

Georgie met Olivia when she moved from the United States to London when she was in eighth grade. Georgie’s parents had died in a horrific car accident and she was forced to move in with her uncle which she loved dearly. He treated her like she was his own daughter and they were very close. The same was with Olivia. Olivia was Georgie’s first friend and only true friend she’d had throughout school.

“Have you gone to mingle?” Olivia asked and Georgie smiled lightly and shook her head.

“Not yet,” she smiled, “I’m perfectly content with just sitting here and talking.”

“Well there is a boy that’s been standing at the bar for the last fifteen minutes staring at you,”

Olivia smiled at her, “And he’s coming over towards the table with his friend.”

“What?” Georgie asked in a panic and spun around to find a boy with curly brown hair and a boy who had blonde hair walking over this way.

Georgie then looked over at her friend and Olivia smiled lightly.

“Calm down Georgie,” she giggled, “Enjoy the night. It’s a masquerade ball be whoever you want to be tonight.”

“Well why are you two lovely ladies sitting here all alone dateless?” the curly haired boy asked the two girls with a boyish smile playing across his face.

“Enjoying the scenery,” Olivia smiled knowing who was standing in front of them.

“Mind if we join you love?” the blonde haired boy asked and Olivia smiled at them and nodded her head.

“Not all gentlemen,” she replied and Georgie tried to get a grip on herself.

“I’m Harry,” the boy with curly hair introduced himself.

“Niall,” the other boy replied.

“Nice to meet you lovely lads,” Olivia smiled, “I’m Olivia.”

“Georgia Rose,” Georgie replied and both boys smiled.

They talked amongst themselves and soon Harry had Georgie out on the floor and they danced the night away.

“Will I get to see you again?” Harry asked as the night came to an end.

“I don’t know Harry,” Georgie answered truthfully.

“How about this if I can’t find you within the next few months we’ll release a song that you would know it’s about you and open it up to find you,” Harry said and Georgie smiled knowing that Harry was just being nice.

“Of course,” she replied kissing his cheek, “It was lovely meeting you Harry. Hope you can find me someday.”

“I will Georgia Rose,” Harry smiled as Georgie rushed to find Olivia and head home for the night.
