Aria splashed some water on her face and walked out of the powder room. The narrow corridor on the second floor lead to a small balcony, overlooking the left side of the house. Aria walked towards the white railing of the balcony and looked up at the sky. It was a beautiful night.

She didn't want to think about what had happened. She didn't want to think about Harry. Her heart ached every time she thought of him and his friends laughing at her. For the first time in 6 years of crushing over him, he had noticed her. Only to have it taken away from her by none other than Amy Salavan.

Aria tried her hardest to remember if she had ever done anything to Amy when they had been friends back in elementary school. But she could not remember a single thing that she had said or done to offend Amy. They were just kids back then after all.

Aria shook her head to blank out the thoughts. She looked back up at the sky and sighed in resignation. The stars were sparkling like tiny studded diamonds over the pitch black sky.
"Serene. Isn't it?" A voice spoke up, with a thick British accent. However, this voice was not as deep as the voice Aria had become used to. Yet, she tensed and turned around to see a boy sitting at the corner of the balcony, leaning against the wall.

"Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't see you there! I'll leave!" Aria turned to walk away but was halted by the boy's voice.

"It's cool. Don't worry." He waved his hand gesturing that it was okay for Aria to stay back.
Aria squinted her eyes in the dark and tried to look properly at the boy. She recognized the boy immediately as one of Harry's friends. She saw the drink in his hand and realized that the thickness in his accent was due to his drunken state. He looked up at her and found her staring at him. Smirking, he held up his drink in a salute. Aria blushed when she realized how it looked to him and quickly lowered her gaze.

"Umm- Aren't you one of Harry's friends?" Aria asked in a solemn voice, looking up slowly.
"Yup. Louis Tomlinson at your service, love!" He introduced himself with a warm smile. Aria couldn't help but smile back.

"Umm- Hi! So. Why aren't you downstairs with the rest of your group?" Aria inquired, not sure whether it was the wisest thing to talk to one of the populars. He'd probably run off to his little friends and tell them that Aria had come up to sweep the balcony.

He stood up and walked towards Aria, who took two steps back. Louis noticed but didn't remark on her nervousness. He just gave her an unusual answer.

"Just because!"

"Just because- what?" Aria asked, confused and a bit flustered at the way the boy stood so close to her. God! He was gorgeous! Not as much as Harry. But his tousled hair, the roguish stubble on his jaw and the mischievous glint in his eyes reminded Aria of a sexy pirate.

"Just because!" He said again and took a sip from his cup. He held onto Aria's gaze the entire time that he took the sip. Aria felt uncomfortable and was the first one to break eye contact by looking away. She suddenly heard a pair of footsteps and turned towards the door to see who it was. But the only thing she saw was a retreating shadow.

She let out a sigh of relief. Maybe it was Amy trying to find Aria to make fun of her. Or maybe it was Liana or Carol. Shit! She had completely forgotten about them! She turned and started walking towards the door, completely forgetting the stranger she had just met.

"Oi! I didn't catch your name, love!"

Aria stopped in her tracks, frowning and smiling at the same time. He was charming, she'd give him that. She turned her head and flashed him a grin before saying.

"That's cause I didn't give it....love!"

And she walked away, leaving Louis wondering why on Earth women were this complicated.
