The title of the story itself had me wanting to read more – or at least read it, that is. I mean, The Resistance. You already have me thinking, “What is the Resistance? Why is there a resistance? What is its purpose?” Then, in the summary you have “The Problem”, and it’s capitalized, so now I’m thinking, “What is ‘The Problem’? What was the cause? the effect?” Stories that have me questioning titles and simple words in summaries make me interested and wanting to read to know more.
When I actually started to read, I was captivated by the story behind the title. Every little thing seemed to be a mystery, whether it was her father’s job or her mother for just being herself. In my opinion, mysteries are the best, especially because you are constantly on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next, not just because there was a cliffhanger at the end of a chapter. Whether you are going for mystery or not, you definitely have me.
I personally like how you start off with them being younger (around 14), and they know each other but they don’t “know” each other. They kind of hate each other, and I just want to see how they evolve and what they become. I like that you are taking you time and building up to bigger events, because it isn’t rushed and a reader can get a better feel for the story before you start to drop the drama.
Overall, I absolutely love this story. I completely recommend this to everyone, especially if they are looking for captivating stories with excellent grammar and an original storyline. I, myself, have subscribed, and I cannot wait until you finally get this story going. :)
If you find your review to be disappointing, I cannot honestly tell you that I’m sorry. Do not let what I say in any way discourage you from writing or anything for that matter. I am just one person with strongly opinionated views on everything. If I made it clear that I strongly dislike your story, do not think that other people won’t enjoy it. There are many other readers with different views than me who will find interest in your story where I may not have. I hope you do take something out of this and improve on and continue your writing, but if you don’t, that’s fine too.
