The cover of your story is the first thing that users of this website will see. You may have the "greatest story in the world" but it won't matter is your cover looks bad. Ever heard of "Don't judge a book by its cover?" That's exactly what people do. Your cover had to appeal to the naked eye, grab the reader's attention.
I recommend using http://www.picmonkey.com for your cover, but if you aren't good at editing photos or are too lazy/busy to do so, there are plenty of accounts that can make your cover photo for you. Don't be afraid to ask or feel embarrassed about it.
There are some exceptions to this stereotype. Some people actually will look past your cover and read what is inside. It's just better to create a cover that outlines the aspect of your story.
Don't forget to add a by-line so people know who the author is and give credit if someone makes your cover for you.

Hi! I don't normally do this but I'm just gonna get right on it.
