Riley's POV:

"So when were you planning on telling me about Zayn?" I pouted sitting down in my usual seat next to Nick at lunch.

"I didn't want you to get involved or try to stop him. He's friends with some dangerous guys now, love. Leave it be, yeah?" He sighed taking a bite of his burger. I sighed. How am I supposed to let this go? My best friend since kindergarten is now friends with these random gang members who just showed up at this high school? I glanced over my shoulder and saw him enter the lunchroom alongside that asshole Harry, and three other boys walking closely behind. They sat down at the table behind us and that gave me an idea.

"I'll be right back. C'mon Dixie." I motioned for her to get up.

"Babe, don't you dare go over there. They're trouble." Nick insisted. I rolled my eyes and put my hand up telling him to stop.

"I'm just going to introduce myself to them Nick, relax." I sighed linking arms with Dixie and heading over to their lunch table. When we arrived, their heads shot up and they all smirked at me.

"Did anyone order a sexy dancer for lunch?" Harry joked high fiving the blonde one. I stopped myself from saying something rude and put on a big fake smile.

"Hi guys, I just wanted to welcome you to Red High School. I'm Riley Cutler, and this is my best friend Dixie. What brings you to Red?" I asked as enthusiastically as I could. I glanced down at Zayn who refused to look me in the eyes.

"We got kicked out of our old school, so they sent us all here. I'm Niall." The blonde said sticking out his hand to shake mine and I slowly stuck mine out to shake his. "I don't bite...Unless you like that kinda stuff." He winked and I immediately pulled my hand away.

"So how are you guys liking the school?" Dixie asked saving me from the awkwardness of that handshake. "And hey Zayn, good to see you again." She smiled. He looked up at her and nodded, that's more that I got out of him this morning.

"It's not bad... Lot's of innocent chicks. We like that kind of shit. I'm Liam by the way." He smirked nodding his head over to us. I felt a hand creep up my skirt and I squealed of fear.

"What the hell!" I shouted stepping away. All the boys started cracking up and I pulled my skirt down a bit.

"Sorry babe, I couldn't help myself. I'm Louis. I really hope we see you around." He winked making me want to vomit right then and there. I stepped back and looked at Zayn.

"You really have nothing to say?" I whispered so only he could hear. I could tell it got his attention, but he still didn't look at me. I looked around the room and saw a couple other students were laughing at these boys' actions...laughing at me. I panicked a little bit and sighed.

"Oh your still here babe?" Harry said catching his breath from laughing.

"I just came over here to invite you guys to a party I'm having tomorrow night...Zayn knows where I live so you won't need to address. Hope you can make it!" I giggled nervously heading back to my table. I hid behind Cody and Nick and burrowed my face in my hands.

"How'd it go Riley?" Cody asked patting my back.

"Well I'm having a party tomorrow night so that's that." I half smiled nervously. Cody and Nick high-fived while Dixie and I sat there planning the party.

"Welcome to your first detentions of the school year. Please find your seats, and shut up." Mrs. Penn smirked heading out the door. I sat in the back of the classroom and Zayn and Harry followed, but this time Harry sat next to me. I felt very uncomfortable, so I crossed my legs and scooted as far away from them as I could go.

"What's the matter baby? Why don't you wanna sit near me?" He whispered. "Come sit on my lap." He cooed. I smiled sweetly and sighed.

"I have a boyfriend, therefore I'm not interested." I smirked tilting my head sideways. "But Zayn could have told you that already. Right Zayn?" He looked at me with anger and stormed out of the class room. Seconds later, I saw him storm away in a car I've never seen before. Great, now it's just me and Harry.

"I hate to be a bother, but could you give me a lift home? Zayn was my ride and since you scared him away, it's the least you could do." He said in fake tone. I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes.

"Fine." I spoke flatly grinding my teeth.

"Thanks so much Riley, you're the best." He smirked.


The ride home was silent aside from Harry laughing at my taste in music and messing with the radio. "Make a right. Now a left. Another left. A quick right." He directed me to get to his house. This route was too familiar... The same exact route I take to get to my house.

"Are you sure we're going the right way?" I questioned as I kept driving.

"Yes, I live on Sawyer Court." I stopped the car short and gasped.

"But there's only four houses on Sawyer Court..." I stiffened in my seat and kept driving.

"Yes, and the white one is mine...Why do you know someone who lives there?" He asked. I didn't respond, I just pulled up to his house and nodded.

"Ok we're here. Get out now." I smiled awkwardly. He nodded and slammed the car door.

"See you later babe. Thanks for the ride." He whispered through the window. I pulled out of his driveway and instantly pulled into mine... How the hell is this possible? Our new neighbor's son was the thug who stole my best friend. Perfect.
