Blame it on the Alcohol
Part 7
-Harry’s POV-
My heart did a weird jitter, doing a mix between sinking and flittering with excitement. Maybe this could be my chance; maybe I could have Shelly back.
“But how? I haven’t seen you in over 6…” We hadn’t used a condom the night before I left her.
“We weren’t protected, I guess. I find out 2 weeks after you left.”
“Why didn’t you tell me when you found out?”
“I just… I couldn’t. You already had one on the way, 2 would be so much stress.”
“I would have left the fan…”
“So you wouldn’t have left me if I had been pregnant?”
“No, it’s just…”
“Just what, Harry? Was she forcing you to stay with her? Was she threatening to tell the media? What was the real reason?”
“She was blackmailing me. Plus our PR guy told me it would be better to keep her happy and keep my nose clean. I’m sorry, Shelly. I really am. I know I can’t take it back, and I wish I could, because I wish I was still with you. But now that we’re having a baby, I want to be back in your life. I want to help you through this. I want to be in my child’s life.”
“That’s the thing. I’m not sure that I’m ready to let you back into my life. I’m still hurt and being with you will only make it worse.”
“We don’t have to do it at once. We can take it slow. I don’t want you to have to go through this alone. And I want my kid to have a dad.”
“I’m not sure, Harry. I’ll have to think about it. For now, just know that I have your baby in my womb.”
And with that, she hung up. I was going to have a baby, for real this time. Too bad the mother hates me and isn’t sure if she ever wants me in her life again.
