Harry broke the kiss first, and pressed his forehead to mine, looking into my eyes lovingly. We sat like that for only a few seconds before we noticed the figure standing at the door.
Aaron walked farther into the room, hands clenched up into fists, looking angrier than I’d ever seen him. Harry stood up from his position bent over my bed to face him. Harry towered over Aaron, at least 6 inches taller, but Aaron stood his ground.
“Keep off of my girlfriend,” Aaron said through clenched teeth.
“You have the nerve to call her that after what you did? She could have died, and you just left her there, like she meant nothing to you! If I hadn’t shown up, you’d have no one to call your girlfriend! You don’t deserve her, she’s too perfect for you!” Harry said, and I felt the sting of tears in my eyes, I was starting to fall in love with this man.
Aaron suddenly raised his fist, and swung to punch Harry in the face, but Harry raised up his hand and caught Aaron’s advance, before twisting his arm and pushing him out the door. Aaron looked terrified before running down the hallway and out the hospital.
Harry was back at my side in an instant. I looked up at him, and put my arms out for a hug, he bent down, and wrapped his arms around me.
“Thank you,” I whispered into his ear, before kissing him on the cheek.
“You’re welcome,” he whispered back. He turned and kissed me on the lips, and I kissed him back willingly. I enjoyed the electric feeling of his lips on mine, and the way he made my heart skip beats. He pulled away and whispered in my ear again,
“I love you, Aspen,” he told me.
“I love you too, Harry,” I said back, and he kissed me again.
