How Sweet The Taste

It felt like hours but Niall soon let me go after my cries had died down to sniffling. I crawled off of hi lap, standing on wobbly knees. I feel like I’m going to be sick. I avoided looking anywhere but the ground, not knowing if I could see anything reflective. I don’t think I could handle seeing myself like this. I turned around at the sound of Niall’s voice, his tone carefree and rather happy.

“Yeah, so guess what.” He said, his blue eyes finding mine. I raised my eyebrows at him but he ignored my silent question. Who was he talking to?

“She’s further along than we thought. She fed.” Niall said, placing his free hand on his hip and shifted his weight to his left leg. He stared down at the body infront of him, listening to the voice on the other end.

“What do you mean that’s not what supposed to happen? I wasn’t naturally, I was bitten so I wouldn’t know.” Niall said, his blue eyes meeting mine for a split second before the lowered back to the body.

“She seems fine at the moment.” He said, glancing at me again.

I placed my hand over my stomach, trying to calm it down. My stomach flipped and flopped, turning upside down. I hiccuped and had to cover my mouth. I’m definitely about to throw up. I looked around me, trying to remember where the bathroom was.

“Are you okay, Anna?” Niall said, bringing my attention back to him.

I shook my head at him, not daring to remove my hand.

“What’s wrong.” He asked, concern taking over his face.

Before I could get one word out, I dropped to my knees, my stomach emptying onto the carpet. I squeezed my eyes shut, not daring to look at what my body got rid of. I could hear Niall cuss and tell who ever he was talking to he had to go. It felt like I had been throwing up for forever when with one last heave, my stomach was completely empty. Another sob broke out, the back of my throat burning and a nasty taste in my mouth. I opened my eyes, feeling extremely dizzy as I realized that the nasty red spot in front of me wasn’t part of the carpet.

Harry’s POV:
I hung up the phone, cursing. What the hell was Niall thinking, feeding her? She wasn’t even supposed to be drawn to the blood. Feeding before the transformation is unheard of, even if it runs in her blood. Neither natural or bitten vampires fed before they had made it all the way through. Of course, Niall didn’t know this. But I did. Dammit, I should have told him.

“Something wrong?” a voice taunted, reminding me where I was. I sighed and turned towards the girl, looking blankly at her.

“You already know the answer to that question. I know you heard the whole conversation.” I say, crossing my arms over my chest.

“You’re right, I did. Anna feeding so soon? That’s unheard of.” Bonny said, a smirk playing on her lips.

“Yeah, I know.” I snap, pinching the bridge of my nose. I don’t have the patients to deal with her anymore.

“Either make the deal or not, Bonny.” I growl, my temper wearing thin. She’s been toying with me for over an hour.

“Okay, so you want me to take off the affects of the bite so you can help her change over. Then what? You leave m again?” She asks, crossing her own arms over her chest to mimic my stance.

“I’ll come to you when I think she’s ready enough to deal with it on her own.” I say, sighing. I didn’t want to do this but Anna needs all the help she can get and I don’t want her to be at the mercy of the other boys. They can be selfish and merciless. I don’t want that for her.

“Swear on it.” She says stubbornly. I narrow my eyes at her, watching her for a minute.

“How do I know you will do it?” I ask, tilting my head to the side as I looked at her.

“Because I want you more than I want Anna dead. And, trust me, that’s a lot.” She says snidely, extending her hand.

“Swear?” She asked again, motioning to take her hand.

“I swear.” I say, shaking her small hand once. She smiles smugly at me before disappearing out of my house. I wait a few minutes to make sure she was gone before darting to my room.

I quickly pack a bag and grab my car keys. When all the lights were out and the doors locked, I was on my way to Anna.
