Niall’s P.O.V.

Our last night in Paris. It was our last night. Almost two months of knowing Aria Lubianco. While the other boys were in the bedrooms packing their bags, I decided to sum up our trip with something special. I took Aria away from her suitcase, her with a confused look on her face.

Silently, I grabbed her hand and pulled her out to the deck, which was our “spot”. The moon was perfectly bright tonight, reflecting over the calm lake.

“What are you doing, Nialler?” Aria giggled quietly as I sat her down on the deck.

“Shh.” I chuckled lightly, pressing a finger to her lips.

“Hurry up, you silly goose. I need to pack.” She grumbled, kicking her feet.

“Aria?”

“Mhm?”

“Did you enjoy the part of the tour you joined us on?”

“Um, yes…”

“And do you think you liked Paris specifically?”

Aria blushed. “Definitely.”

“Do you still have that obsession of the Eiffel Tower?”

“Always.”

“Then close your eyes.” I whispered.

“Why?” she whined.

“Don’t make this hard, Ari,” I laughed, “just do it.”

She smiled and closed her eyes.

I quietly took the jewelry box which had been resting in the pocket of my hoodie, spreading her hand out and placing the small box in her palm. She opened her eyes immediately, gasping at what was inside.

“Oh my god.” She whispered, clapping her hand over her mouth.

“I-It’s not that, um, important or anything, but um-“

“Are you kidding?” she squealed, setting the box down at wrapping her arms around my neck into a hug.

“Do you like it?” I asked, a hint of satisfaction in my voice.

“I love it. Can you put it on?” she asked, handing me the box. I nodded, taking out the gold necklace from the padding. The necklace, even I thought, was beautiful. It was a glittering gold, with both a letter “N” charm and a three dimensional Eiffel Tower hanging from it. I reached out, fastening it around Aria’s neck.

“Thank you so much, Niall. It’s so beautiful.” She gulped, her lips quivering. She was trying to hide that beautiful smile of hers. I could tell.

“No problem, Ari.”

I could tell she was trying to process more words, until two minutes later, she asked, “Why? What is this for?”

I had a feeling this question was coming. “Honestly, I bought it at the mall the day I was distracting Liam to get ready for his birthday party. I found it at this jewelry shop and I thought, hey, even if she doesn’t like me, I’ll give it to her as a remembrance of her trip here. But it turns out things were going down the more fortunate road. So I guess, well, I don’t know. We haven’t even gone on our first date yet, and I, um, don’t know if we’re exactly considered a couple yet, so I guess it’s more of a ‘beginning’ present.” I explained, watching as Aria played with the charms.

“Well, thank you again. This is so sweet.” She smiled. Aria paused for a moment, and then pressed her lips to mine for a gentle kiss. I kissed her back just as innocently, pulling away with a smile that I didn’t know if I could contain any longer.

“Well, I need to go back to packing,” she sighed, tucking her hair behind her ear. “We have the whole plane ride to talk though.” She sent me a short wave before heading back to the bedroom.

I'm so lucky to have her.
