Daddy's Little Girl

“Don’t you think you should work out a time for Harry to see her or at least meet her?” Rachelle asked as we sat on my couch. Bella was out with Cody, Jason, and Clair so that Rachelle, Katie, and I can plan her third birthday party. Somehow our conversation turned to Harry.

“I know I should but I don’t want to give him the chance to let her down.” I replied.

“Why don’t you invite him and his friends to come to her birthday? No harm could be done right?” Katie asked me. I thought about it and she was right so I added all five of them to the guest list. I took out my phone and DM’d Harry asking for his number.

“So we are going with Cinderella theme right?” Katie double checked.

“Yup. She wouldn’t have it any other way. The party will be in Jason’s back yard depending on the weather.” I replied.

“Ok. We can go get the plates and things now if you want to finish the invitations.” Rachelle said.

“Omg you guys are awesome and thank you!” I said hugging them both. After they left I looked down at my phone and saw that Harry had DM’d me back. I took a deep breath before I dialed his number. I began to pace as it was ringing.

“Hello?” I heard his accent from the other end of the phone.

“Umm Hi Harry. It’s Olivia.” I said sitting back down on the couch with my legs tucked under me.

“Oh hey Liv. What did you want?” He asked me. I honestly don’t like the feeling I have right now. I want it to be a feeling of hatred but it’s not…it’s an odd feeling.

“So Isabella is turning three next Tuesday and I wanted to invite you and your friends. You can even bring your girlfriend I guess” I said resting my hand on my head.

“I don’t know. We just finished tour so I’m kind of with my family.” He said into the phone. I rolled my eyes.

“It’s fine. I knew this was a mistake. Sorry for asking.” I said and hung up. I threw my phone next to me and laid down. Why wouldn’t he want to meet his own freaking daughter? As I was lying thinking about it my phone buzzed and it was a text from him.

From: Harry
I would like to come but instead of bringing Kallie can I bring mom, Gemma, and Robin?

To: Harry
Ok. And in case you don’t know what to get her she likes Cinderella

To: Harry
Maybe just your mom for now I don’t want to over whelm her. If you could fly out this weekend that would be great because we have to talk about things.

From: Harry
I can get a flight tonight and be there by tomorrow.

I locked my phone as Cody and Jason walked in with the girls. Bella came running over to me.

“Hey Bells! How was your day?” I asked as she sat on my lap and Cody kissed my cheek.

“It was fun! Uncwle Jawson tripped and fell.” She said giggling at the memory.

“That’s funny. Why don’t you and Clair go play in your room while mommy talks to Uncle Jason and Cody?” I asked her. She nodded her head, then got off my lap and she and Clair went to her room. Once I heard her door shut I leant against Cody.

“What’s up sis?” Jason asked noticing my change in mood.

“I kind of invited Harry to Bella’s party.” I said.

“Why would you do that?” Cody asked as he tensed up.

“Well he is still her father and I don’t want her to hate me when she get older for never letting her meet him.” I replied feeling an argument coming on.

“How do you think I’m going to feel seeing him there knowing that you guys obviously had something special happening?” Cody asked standing up.

“Hate to break it to you but this isn’t about you, me, or him. It’s about the little girl in that room who is almost three. If you feel he is a threat then you don’t have to come simple as that.” I said shrugging my shoulders.

“Fine I won’t. I’ll talk to you later.” Cody said slamming the door shut. I looked at Jason with tears in my eyes and he hugged me.

“It’s ok. You made the right decision by putting your daughter first, and trust me Cody will be there.” He said while hugging me. I nodded my head as we pulled away from the hug.

“Thanks bub. I’ll take Clair to school tomorrow since I have to take Bella to play group tomorrow.” I said.

“OK. I have to go study for finals. Love you and talk to you later.” He said before he left. Once he left I saw it was 5:30 so I had to make dinner. I decided to make hamburgers and fries. I cut Bella’s into pieces and then Clair’s in half. Once we all finished eating. I gave Bella a bath and Clair took a shower. I took a quick shower while they played in Bella’s room. Once I was out of the shower and changed I went to the living room and put Where the Wild Things Are. It was and still is my favorite movie and last I knew it was Harry’s. Bella also loves this movie.

Bella sat on my lap and Clair sat next to me. I cover us up with a blanket then pressed play. By the time the movie ended Bella was asleep and Clair was half way there. I picked Bella up and took her to her room. I turned on her night light then tucked her in and gave her a kiss. When I walked back to the living room Clair wasn’t there so I went to her room. When I got in there I saw her getting into bed.

“Sissy do you think mommy and daddy still love us from where they are?” Clair asked as I began to tuck her in. I felt my heart break a little bit.

“I know they do ClairBear. I love you and will see you in the morning.” I said kissing her forehead and walking out her room. I cracked her door then walked down the hall to my room. I put my phone on its charger and saw I had two text. One from Harry and one from Cody. I opened Cody’s first.

From: Cody
Hey babe! I’m sorry about earlier. I just don’t want to lose you to him. I understand if you don’t want to talk to me right now, but just know I love you!

I decided to reply to him.

To: Cody
I love you too but you have to understand from no on Harry is going to be a part of our lives until he does something to ruin that.

After I sent the text to Cody I looked at Harry’s message. It said his flight will land at noon tomorrow and that he can’t wait. I didn’t even reply to Harry. I just went to bed.
