Niall’s p.o.v
“Niall are you ok?” Liam asked as I looked into his eyes were full of terror.
“I’m fine and I swear if one more person asks me if I’m ok I am going to kill them!” I said and they all laughed.
“well looks like you’re going to murder Zayn then” Louis said.
“where is Zayn?” Harry asked.
“Perrie called him so he’s coming once he is off the phone” Liam said and no longer than five minutes later Zayn walked in.
“Niall are you “ I cut him off.
“if you ask me if I am ok I will snap your neck” I threatened.
“well this is one thing I’m telling you, you are not being on your own anytime soon” Liam said.
“fine, wait does that include when I’m in my room?” I asked.
“yes, but at the moment your sharing a room with Louis so it will be you and him with the occasional check-up from one of us.” Liam said.
“but today when I saw Louis and Niall getting pinned against the wall Louis couldn’t do anything wouldn’t it be better if we were all in one place” Harry said.
“yeah that happened because I wasn’t thinking I had the adrenaline from the show and I had anger running through me from seeing Niall in that state.” Louis stated.
“Guys please I have a headache can you please you know leave I just want to go to bed” I said.
“of course, but are you sure you’re ok?” Liam asked.
“I’m fine just overwhelmed” I said the boys said their goodbyes and I got a hug from them and they left the room so it was just me and Louis as the door shut I turned and face Louis.
“so are you going to tell me?” I asked crossing my arms.
“tell you what?” Louis gulped.
“don’t play dumb with me why did that man call you experiment 4509?” I asked he let out a big sigh and sat on his bed and he motioned for me to sit on the bed so I did.
“well let’s start off with you’re not alone with this” he said.
“what do you mean I’m not alone?” I asked.
“being a hybrid you’re not the only one” he said.
“I know I’m not when I was in that place there was what 10 of us.” I said.
“yeah and five of those were killed because they were no use and were trouble whilst the other five including you escaped when the men were arrested and in that other group was um…” he said and froze.
“you were one of them weren’t you” I said his expression softened a lot and he looked really upset and two seconds later he nodded and two brown ears were sticking up through his hair.
“that explains a lot.” I said.
“what do you mean?” he asked.
“you froze when you felt my ears through my beanie two weeks ago and when I told you about me you looked like you were fighting yourself whether or not to tell me about something and you seemed really scared when you found out those people were after me and when you read the text wait you got that text too didn’t you?” I asked.
He nodded “ yeah your right I got the text when I got out of there I was far away from home and I was stuck there with no way home” he said.
“where were you?” I asked.
“turns out I was in Mullingar” he said.
“ I remember you!” I said.
*flashback*
The boy sat up holding his right arm and he looked up at me but he shuffled back so he was leaning against the wall. I couldn’t help but stare as this boy was in the same position I was having his full life taking away from him all just to be an experiment.
“please stop staring” he muttered.
“sorry” I whispered and I put my knees up to my chest and rested my chin on them.
“why are you whispering?” he asked.
“b-because you um g-get beating u-up for t-talking without p-permission” I stuttered it had been the first time I had talked to another person in years.
“how long have you been here?” he asked.
“t-three years” I said “how come I haven’t seen you here before but you’re a hybrid?” I asked,
“well you see I have been here for a year and half now and I was up at one of the cells by the door there but I was always disobeying them and I was constantly getting punished and I actually got out of my cell and tried to run but failed and I got took to a special cell for 3 months to learn my lesson and now I have been moved here” he said shrugging.
“what’s your name?” I asked.
“ it’s Lo-“ the doors flew open and two men walked in and took him away for two hours and when he returned he was covered in blood and passed out.
*flashback over*
“h-how do you remember me?” he asked.
“you were that boy across from my cell in that facility when I first met you, you said you were in a special cell because you attempted to run away but got caught and you were chucked in your cell and you landed on your right arm and you were in a lot of pain because of it and you gave me wrong for staring at you” I said.
“so your that boy who mysteriously disappeared I remember you getting took away and then you never returned I thought you were killed as that was the week half of the hybrids were killed but you obviously weren’t” he said.
“how did you get home?” I asked.
“I managed to find enough money to use a payphone and I called my parents who managed to fly over and they got me a passport and tickets and I got home but once I got home I had to come clean about being a hybrid and I did, my dad didn’t take it well he well took off but my mum didn’t care I was still her son and she loved me” he said.
“I went home after I got out came clean to my mum then my brother and my dad came downstairs and my dad took one look at my ears and that was it he pushed me out the door and slammed it shut.” I said and he hugged me.
“well you’re not alone now” he said and I smiled at the thought of having someone actually having my own little family who I know will always be here for me no matter what especially Louis since he is like me.
“can I ask something” I said.
“sure” he said.
“how did you hide that from Harry when you lived with him I mean there must have been a time where he walked in on you” I said.
“nope he was a complete and utter idiot he’s blind honestly I have been shit at hiding this and I found it extremely difficult I can’t keep my ears down for more than a few hours so I’m constantly running off places and being on my own my tail isn’t bad but it manages to move in the most uncomfortable places causing me to be in a lot of pain and making me look suspicious and whilst living with harry there were times where I felt so comfortable like on a really cold day where I sat on one settee harry sat on the other we had a fire going and I was wrapped up in a quilt with blankets in my pyjamas with a hot cup of hot chocolate watching tv I let a few purrs out and I almost got caught and Harry did walk in on me once but he was drunk and soon passed out the next day when he saw me he was so confused but he dropped it when he realized he sounded mental and he was drunk” he said laughing.
“well you know how to play dumb especially about me you knew from that minute I hissed at you didn’t you?” I said.
“yes I did but I didn’t want to bring it up because I knew if I was in the same position I would have wanted the other person to drop it and not force me to come out with it.” He said.
“wait why didn’t you tell me when you found out about me?” I asked.
“I don’t know i didn’t want you to think different of me and I thought you would tell the boys but I would have blackmailed you with your own secret so it would have been fine” he said.
“so why didn’t you tell the boys?” I asked.
“most likely the same reason as you, I thought they would hate me and just feel disguisted by me and they would treat me like shit and that they would just want rid of me handing me over to those people.” He said his ears flattened on his head.
“how do you think they would react” I asked.
“freak out then they will most likely calm down.” He said.
