Chapter One.
"Come on babe, you'll do great out there!" My boyfriend Sam reassured me.
I had my big recital today and this could be my big break.
They called in talent scouts for this!
I could get signed today!
The winner gets signed by one of the scouts!
"Now preforming a drop in the ocean on piano while singing will be Jessica Parks! Let's give her a round of applause." The announcer said.
"You will do fine." Sam said and pecked me on the lips and pushed me out onto the stage.
So. Many. People.
I slowly walked over to the piano, this place was so quiet you could even hear my heels clacking against the wooden flooring.
I sat down on the piano stool.
I started to play the begging part of the song.
It's time to sing, I told myself.
A drop in the ocean

I sang smoothly.
I don't wanna waste the weekend

I started to loosen up and get comfterable with the idea of singing in front of all these people.

I looked out to the talent scouts and they had no emotion on their faces so it was really hard to tell if they were enjoying my performance.

I finally finished and the crowd erupted into applause.
my mom was sitting front row now crying her eyes out.
I just smiled.
The applause kept going as I was the last one to perform.
Mostly everyone was standing and applauding, even a few of the talent scouts were which made me feel so much better.
"Wow." The announcer said. "Well, that was just amazing."
"Thank you." I smiled.
"Let's give Jessica one last applause before we get to the awards." He said.
I laughed as everyone went crazy applauding and shouting things.
I walked back stage but then saw Sam and ran into his arms.
"You did amazing." He smiled into my hair.
I pulled back.
"Did you see all those people clapping for me?" I asked in amazement.
"I told you everyone would love you, babe." he smiled.
"I need all the performers to come on stage please." The announcer called.
I kissed Sam once more and walked back on stage.
"We have the top 10 winners in." He smiled.
I was shaking.
This could be my big break.
"In 10th place is Hannah Calmen who sung Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri!" He shouted.
She stood up, smiled and walked to get her award then walked back.
"9th place goes to Natalie Johnson for dancing to Na Na Na by One Direction." The announcer yelled.
I shouted for her because she is my best friend.
"8th place is Austin Star for singing Little thing by One Direction which was dedicated to his girlfriend Nicole Simpson"
he smiled, stood up and walked to get his award.
"In 7th place is Jennette Popp for playing the guitar and singing Everytime we touch By Cascada!"
"6th place goes to Nicole Zinger for dancing to The motto by drake... it was an... interesting performance." He laughed.
If by interesting you mean slutty I'll agree to that one.
She is the school slut and head cheerleader.
She absolutely hates my guts because I can dance, sing, and play instruments better than her.
But let's not forget to include her boyfriend wants me.
I don't want him, I have Sam.
"5th place is for Joshua Grimes and Heather Lynch for singing Love the way you lie by Eminem and Rihanna!"
"4th place is to Cameron Simpson for dancing to Dynamite by Taio Cruz"
"Justin Pines in 3rd place for singing Ridin Solo by Jason Derulo"
"In 2nd place is Haley Jones for singing girl on fire by Alicia Keyz."
"And the moment you have all been waiting for... Last but not least... 1st Place the grand prize winner who gets signed by a record label goes to..." He paused before saying these final words. "The award goes to.... JESSICA PARKS FOR SINGING A DROP IN THE OCEAN BY RON POPE WHILE PLAYING THE PIANO! GREAT JOB JESS!" He screamed.
The crowed erupted into cheers.
Sam ran onto stage and gave me a HUGE hug.
I let go of him and grabbed my 1st place trophy and damnit I was proud!
Everyone was scattering off stage and I walked back to Sam and gave him a kiss.
I ran off stage and gave my mom and dad a hug and kiss.
"You were incredible honey." My mom smiled while she cried and hugged me again.
"Yes, you were terrific." My dad complimented.
"Thank you." I smiled.
Then Simon Freaking Cowell walked up..
"Excuse me. Jessica Parks?" He asked.
"Y-Yes?" I stuttered.
"I'm Simon Cowell, I think you did a tremendous job and I would like to sign you to syco records." He smiled.
I nodded.
"I... I would absolutely Love That!" I smiled.
"Great, Here's my card. Call this number tomorrow and we'll meet up and talk." he handed me a piece of paper with his company name and number on it.
After he walked away I looked over at my parents and tried to play it cool.
"DID YOU JUST SEE THAT?" I squealed they nodded and smiled.
Sam came up and gave me another hug.
Today was officially the best day of my life... but I couldn't really say much because I knew better things were in store for me later on up the road.
