Sara's p.o.v.

"Last year I was assigned to another case which is pretty normal since I'm a cop but it was a big deal to me. It was my first major case." I started

Harry nodded for me to continue.

"His name was Jake Mitchell.."

"The Jake that died after both of you got shot?" Harry interrupted me

"Yes that Jake that Scarlet was talking about. There was this gang that wanted him dead. I had to protect him. There were other cops as well on that job but I wasn't the only one who was staying in his house. Sort of like your case."

"What happened? How did he die?" Harry asked probably worried for his life

"This is why I didn't want to tell you. You think that I wouldn't be able to do this job"

"I trust you with my life Sara. I wouldn't never doubt you. Please continue with this story."

"Okay. I started the case with a lot enthusiasm. Jake was sweet and kind. I didn't have these not dating rules back then. So about 2 weeks after I started working on his case he asked me out. I couldn't have been happier. I liked him from the start and I wanted to protect him. Even if it could cost my life. My personal life was going great. I loved him and he loved me. He was the first guy after Justin for who I felt this way. But the case was getting nowhere. The weird thing about the case was that I didn't find anything. Who or why somebody wanted to kill him. The gang turned out to be a false lead. We arrested them but they weren't the treat. Other suspects got off the list. Anyways The other cops and my seniors thought that everything was fine that I should stay alert for sometime but whoever wanted Jake dead had backed off."

"Okay but that couldn't have been since he died?" Harry asked

"We were wrong. The security started getting less and less by each day. After 3 weeks it was just him and me. And I became very unprofessional. I moved in with him for real after we had been dating for 2 months. It just felt right. Lets flash forward our time together. There was this night when I was really stressed out about telling my parent that I was engaged to Jake."

"You were what?!" Harry shouted. I guess I surprised him with that. That's why I said it quiet fast.

"He was the perfect guy. He knew the right thing to say, to do. I was over my head in love with him. Anyways that night he insisted on going out while I thought it would be great if we came up with some strategy to tell my parents without them yelling at us. We eventually went out for dinner. He got shot in the restaurant. I don't really want to get into that right know. He and I both got shot but I survived and he didn't and that's the point"

"That doesn't seem like your fault. You weren't working. You were out on a date."

"I should have been more alert. I messed up. The case went up to court and they told me all these thing that I should have know but I didn't. I got fired and they told me to go into therapy. Everyone in the office talked about how I messed up such a simple case. If did my job properly and focused more on the case than on Jake then he probably would be alive right now."

Harry's p.o.v.

"It isn't your fault. Look I wasn't there when you got shot but I wasn't you fault. If Jake could be here right now and talk to you then he would say the same thing." I said

My mind was still processing everything. "Was that why you were crying when I gave you a tissue?"

"Yes because everyone was thinking how in gods name I got my job back. "

"How did you get your job back?

"I did therapy and I got a letter from my therapist that said that I was mentally stable and had dealt with Jake's death. And I did some other test and passed them." She told me proudly

"So I'll live?" I joked. I didn't want her to be sad.

She punched my chest "Haha very funny"

"Weep your tears. We are almost there" I told her. I don't think she even realized that she was crying.

"Wow I went on for that long? My parents house is like 2 minutes away from here" She said

"Well it was a long story like you said"
