Flashback 1912. Marina.

I gracefully danced to the melody of the piano, my dress following my every step. I moved my glance from the floor to a boy leaning against a table, sipping wine. His curly hair shadowed his face, and his tall figure attracted me more than ever.

I slipped through the crowd, landing in front of him. He raised his head in acknowledgement and eyed me from my waist up. "Hello, Marina." he smiled.

"How do you know my name?" I asked.

"Everyone here is aware of your title. Daughter of the mayor, yes?"

I nodded slowly, my curls bouncing. "That is correct."

"It seems," he watched over my shoulder. "that everyone is watching me."

"Well you are not unattractive.." I trailed off, letting my eyes wander across his body.

"I am aware of my beauty, Miss Petrova. But while everyone is watching me, my eyes are on you." I felt myself blush at his words.

"Maybe I can show you my father's garden, yes?" I asked sweetly.

He held out his arm. "It would be my pleasure."

Present Day. Marina.

I ran past trees, dodging branches as if I was on a obstacle course I'd long ago memorized. My human body would have never moved this fast, so agile. I heard the pounding of footsteps threatening to pass me so I quickly jumped up.

I grabbed hold of a tree branch and swung myself over it, landing in a crouching position. I bared my fangs at the intruder as he neared my hide-out.

"Marina, baby. I didn't mean to abandon you, okay? I was coming back!" Harry yelled.

I tensed. "Liar! You left me for dead!"

"Baby I was trying to protect you. The things I wanted to do to you... they were so harsh." his smile faded.

I jumped from the tree landing on my feet in front of him. He brushed a stray curl behind my ear.

"I didn't leave because I hated you. I left because I loved you.."
