Gotta Be You
Chapter 5
“I can’t believe your taking us to the arcade!” It seems like something silly and stupid for a 17 year old to be excited about but I was. Niall laughed at me and I stuck my tongue out at him and then smiled.
This time I got out of the car instead of Niall opening the door for me. I walked, well practically ran right in through the door before anybody else. Niall followed right behind me.
“So, what do you guys want to do first?” Zayn asked everyone.
“Skee Ball! Definitely!” I said in joy.
We all walked over to skee ball except for Alex and Liam. They sat down at a table eating pizza, drinking soda, and jus talking. Louis and Zayn decided they were going to cheat at skee ball and climb up it and stick the ball in the “100” hole. Marissa had NO clue what she was doing so Harry was behind her showing her how to swing your arm and let go of the ball. She was doing it on purpose though just so she could get close to Harry and things. Niall and I were having a competition to see who got the highest score. We both agreed the first time we rolled the ball we would roll at the same time
“Ready? On three! 1 2…………….3!” I yelled
We both rolled. My ball rolled straight into the 100 hole! I flung my arms up in the air and continued rolling getting the ball into the 20, 50 and 100 hole! I only missed the holes twice and once I got the ball in 10 hole. We both rolled 8 time. I rolled my ball in to the 100 hole 4 times. I guttered twice, I got the ball into the 50 hole twice, and the 20 hole twice. Which equalled up to 400…….500……540! 540 Points! And Niall only had 310. I through my arms in the air yelled “WOOO! I won!” He came over to and pulled my arms down from the air and put them to my side. He looked at me and said “Lets go and get something to eat. I am starving!”
I said “Ok, but remember I still beat you at skee ball!”
He just laughed and we started walking toward the pizza bar.
He asked.
“Uh, whats that?” I asked back. He took me over to this huge ball looking thing that had two seats and metal barring.
“What does it even do?” I asked him
“Just get on and see.”
Im not getting on by myself I hope you know. Especially since I don’t even know what it does.”
“You don’t have to. I will be getting on with you.”
I laughed and smiled and said “Ok” back to him. The worker buckled me in and then Niall. I covered my face with my hands.
“Are you two ready?” The worker said to Niall and me.
“Erg.. Uhm no! NO NO!” I screamed in terror.
“Niall took my hand as I started crying.
“Hey, it will be ok. Its just for fun. Your not going to die or anything” He said. I looked up at his face. His face looked smooth and his blue eyes glowed. It made my heart melt and it also calmed me down.
“Are you guys ready NOW?”
I shook my head yes and Niall did the same. He never let go of my hand. We started spinning in circles, upside down, all around, and back and forth. The whole ride we laughed and screamed and giggled. But what made the whole entire ride is that the whole time, Niall still never let go of my hand.
We got of the gyro ball. I was so dizzy that when I stepped down from the gyro ball I fell flat on my face. I was embarrassed of course but Niall made it all better by helping me up. We were the only people in the arcade. Well, besides Louis, Zayn, Alex, Liam, Marissa, and Harry.
We all sat together at one large round table.
“So, Marissa and I have something to tell you guys.” Harry said. I knew what it was already. Like no one already knew.
“Harry and I are now going out!”
“Big shocker” Louis said while laughing.
“That reminds me! SO aren’t Alex and I” Said Liam.
I really felt like the awkward one out of the bunch. Louis and Eleanor, and Zayn had his Mirror.
“Please excuse me for one second” I got up from my seat and ran towards the bathroom. I looked into the mirror. Great I though to myself. Alex and Liam, Marissa and Harry, Louis and Eleanor, and Zayn and his Mirror. I felt like an ugly potato that was a third wheel all of a sudden. I took a deep breathe and turned to walk out. Marissa walked right in.
“Whats wrong?”
“I feel like an ugly potato with everyone else dating someone and me, alone, like a third wheel.”
“Your not an ugly potato. Potatoes taste good! And plus, your not a third wheel. Believe me and Niall, you can tell he likes you a lot. He just doesn’t want to really say anything yet. I think he got a clue after you just got up and walked away from the table. Oh well though”
Marissa could always cheer me up no matter what it was. We both walked out but I told her to stay behind and wait so it doesn’t seem obvious what we were really talking about. I sat down by Niall and started eating my pizza. To me it sounded like a dinosaur chomping on food so I started eating slower and tried, well attempted, eating quitter but I don’t know how well that worked out.
“Does anybody want to go ride go-carts now?” Zayn asked everyone. We all through away our trash an walked towards the go-cart room. “Well, all the single carts are dead and charging so you kids will just have to settle for the double go-carts.” The worker said.
Of course, Liam and Alex were in one, Marissa and Harry were in one, Louis and Zayn and Niall and I were in one. We were waiting for the guy to let us take off when Niall said something to me
“Skye, do you like me?”
“Well, of course I do. You a great guy and fun to be around” I replied back.
“No, like do you LIKE LIKE me? As in…..Boyfriend and Girlfriend like?”
I stopped for awhile. I couldn’t breathe because I knew what the answer was. It was yes! Of course it was! but I just couldn’t get the word out of my mouth.
“So you dont. Thats okay, no bid deal” He said.
“NO!” I started tearing up a little bit. “I do like you. A lot actually I just couldn’t get the word out of my mouth. Im sorry! I do like you.”
He looked at me and smile. He took my hand in his and we held hand the whole time we were all racing go-carts. When the race was over, we had to pull into the charging lane and get out. Niall started making fun of my crazy hair so I pulled it into a ponytail with a bump in the back. It looked cute for not having a mirror around me to see what I was doing. The other went to the prize section to claim their prizes for winning so many tickets. Niall and I sat down on the couch that was in the back of the arcade.
“So” Niall took my hand once again. “Skye, would you like to be my girlfriend?”
