Chapter 19
Gabby’s POV:
I showed Liam to his room and got him situated.
“I should call Harry…”
I nodded, “Yeah, go for it. Do you mind if I stay…?”
“Of course not.”
He dialed Harry and put it on speaker phone. Harry picked up after the first ring.
“Where the fuck is she, Liam?”
“At home.”
“I will fucking kill you if-“
“Shut up Harry.” I heard myself say.
Liam went pale.
“Was that her?” He grew quieter.
I took the phone from Liam’s hand, “I am here, at home. Liam is spending the night.”
“With you?” He questioned; his voice was strong and loud again.
“Of course not!” I exclaimed.
I heard him exhale a sigh of relief, “Then why is he there?”
“He has no way of getting home. Now, goodbye.”
“Wait!” I heard the begging tone in his voice.
“What?” I questioned. Liam was just standing there, taking it all in.
“I didn’t fuck that girl.”
I laughed, “Yeah, okay.”
“Gabb-“ I hung up the phone.
I handed Liam his phone and he shook his head and laughed, “I am so dead.”
“Not on my watch.” I winked at him and started to walk out of the room.
“Thank you, Gabby.”
“For what?”
“Being my real friend.”
“You have real friends…”
He shook his head, “Not like you.”
I smiled, “Don’t worry about waking up at a certain time.” I looked at the clock on the nightstand, 1:34 am.
“I’ll get up by 8.”
“No, I will wake you up at 9.” I offered.
He nodded his head, “Sounds good to me.” He smiled.
I closed the door behind me and went into my room. My father was sitting on my bed, holding his sweatshirt I took for myself in his hands.
“He seems nice.”
“I thought you said people like him were a bad influence.”
My father shook his head, “I jumped to conclusions.”
“I know you did.”
“I admit I was wrong. But, that doesn’t change the fact that you cannot disrespect me.”
I felt tears stinging my eyes, “You walked away. You left us. We needed you, I needed you. A girl shouldn’t have to grow up without a father.”
He looked down at the ground, “I thought I was doing you a favor.”
I sat on the edge of the bed next to him, “No, you left us. Please stay.”
He shook his head, “I cant.”
“You cant leave again! You just came back!”
He looked at me, and wiped the tears from my face, “Gib, I cant stay here.”
“Then why come back?”
