Los Angeles to London

Rear Window

Alex's POV

We had finished dinner with everyone and were on your way back to London; Eleanor, Perrie and myself had decided to meet for dinner one night this week.

Harry and I chatted on our way back home about everything, flowing from one topic to the next. We talked about his family (something I was excited to talk about since he knew so much about me, but I didn't really know that much about him.) I really enjoyed spending that time with him, and I was going to miss it greatly while he was on tour.

I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I knew harry was gentle shaking my arm.

"Alex. Alex hunny, we're home."

I stretched as a sigh escaped my mouth.

"When did I fall asleep?"

"Like 45 minutes ago."

"Oh. Sorry." I said shyly. I didn't realize just how tired I was from spending time with everyone and also combined with the delicious dinner in my stomach.

"It's ok. You're cute when you sleep, you know that?" Harry replied with a smirk on his face.

I rolled my eyes at him and hopped out of the car. It was pretty chilly outside, I still wasn't used to the weather in the UK, and it was only going to get worse since winter was just around the corner. We got inside where it was nice and warm and walked upstairs to the bedroom. I flopped down face first on the bed, I was exhausted. Harry came over to me and rubbed my back.

"I'm gonna go take a shower." He told me before retreating to the bathroom.

I laid there for a few minutes. I was thinking about how this was the last night I'd see Harry for a few weeks. I thought about how much I wanted him. I thought about how much I'd miss him. I thought about how stupid I was for freaking out on him just a few days ago. I knew Harry had forgiven me, but I still hadn't forgiven myself. It was so stupid to waste those days that I could have been spending with him instead of spending them moping around.

I got up off the bed and stripped my clothes off. I walked into the steamy bathroom, harry was in the shower with his back to me. I stepped in the shower and wrapped my arms around his torso. I felt him tense a little at my touch, I don't think he was expecting me to join him.

"Is it all right if I join you?" I mumbled before leaving a trail of kisses on his toned back.

"Of course." He said, turning around in my arms to face me. He placed a finger under my chin and lifted it up so he could see my face.

"Why do you look so sad?" I could see the worry in his eyes.

I was hoping he wouldn't notice but even after such a short time of knowing each other he could already read me like a book.

"It's nothing."

"You can tell me." He replied while stroking my cheek.

"It's just-" I let out a sigh. "It's just that I love you so much and I'm going to miss you. I know it's dumb cause you're only going to be gone for like 5 weeks, but I can't help the way I feel." A tear escaped before I realized what was happening.

"Lex, it's not dumb." Harry placed a tender kiss to my forehead. "You can't help how you feel, and trust me I'm going to miss you like crazy, but like you said, its only for a few weeks."

I smiled at him and hugged him tight, afraid to let him go.

We finished showering and were putting our pajamas on.

"Want to watch a movie?" Harry asked me.

"Sure, which one?"

"Dear John?"

"Are you serious? Please tell me you're kidding."

"Why? Whats wrong with Dear John?" He asked, his voice going up a few notches.

"It's a chick flick!"

"And you're point?"

"I don't like chick flicks." I said, looking at the ground.

"You're a girl who doesn't like chick flicks? Interesting. So what kind of movies do you like?"

"I don't know, like classic movies. Pretty much any Hitchcock movie. Scary movies, comedies, Disney movies, pretty much anything. Just not chick flicks."

"Not a single chick flick?"

"Well I guess maybe a few, but they aren't anything like Dear John."

"Which ones then?"

"Um, Steel Magnolias, Fried Green Tomatoes, Sex and the City. Oh, and I have a soft spot for any Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn movie. They're just so beautiful, the both of them." I smiled stupidly, thinking about when my mom used to take me to the drive in movie theater on classic night when I was little. We would to borrow our neighbors truck, and would take just about every blanket and pillow we owned. We would set up a cozy bed in the back of the truck, we would have an endless supply of candy and popcorn. It was at that drive in theater that I discovered my love of makeup. I was hypothesized by the way that the woman in the movies had the most perfect skin I had ever seen. I loved that they didn't have to wear over the top makeup to look beautiful. Don't get me wrong, I love a smokey eye and a strong lip, but my weakness and expertise is the classic makeup.

"You're interesting." Harry said, while he tapped me on the nose.

I rolled my eyes once again and sat on the bed Indian style. Harry walked over to a cabinet near the tv, after a few minutes of searching for something he turned around to face me.

"You're in luck." He said, raising a DVD up. "I just so happen to own a copy of Rear Window. Do you care to watch?"

"Absolutley." A smile spread across my face. "That's one of my favorite Hitchcock films."

Harry smiled and then turned back to the tv. He popped the DVD in the player, turned off the over head light and made his way over to the bed. The bedroom was illuminated only by the light of the tv, but I could still see the sparkling green eyes that I loved so much. Harry pulled the covers back and laid down.

"Come here." He said, motioning my over to him.

I crawled over to him and snuggled up to him, I laid my head on his chest and his hand went straight to my hair. He absentmindedly played with it while we laid there comfortably and watched the movie.

I know that typical couple would have been intimate the night before one of them left for weeks on end, but I enjoyed just laying there with him. I loved listening to his heart beat underneath me. I heard Harry's breathing starting to level out and I noticed that he was no longer playing with my hair, he had fallen asleep so I reached next to him and grabbed the remote, the movie was almost over anyways so I shut off the tv and drifted off to sleep too.

I woke up early the next morning, Harry was still sleeping so I quietly got out of bed, I brushed my teeth and headed downstairs. Harry didn't have to leave for the airport until later in the afternoon so I decided to make him breakfast. I decided on pancakes, they always made me feel better when I was sad, and this morning I was exceptionally sad.

I threw some bacon in a pan and let it do its thing. I measured all of the ingredients for the pancakes and poured some on to the pan. I grabbed some fruit out of the fridge and cut them up to go along with the pancakes and bacon. I put some coffee on and went upstairs to find Harry.

Harry was still sleeping so I walked over and sat next to him, I kissed his cheek and his arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me close to him.

"Hey, I made breakfast." I kissed his cheek again.

"I can smell it. It smells good."

"Well get up and lets go eat." I said, nudging his bare chest.

His eyes fluttered open and he looked at me. My breath caught in my throat, I don't think I'll ever get used to those eyes looking at me.

He leaned up and kissed me. I wasn't sure why, but it caught me off guard.

"What was that look for?"

"It's just," I paused. "You caught me off guard, I wasn't expecting you to kiss me."

"Why wouldn't I kiss you? I love you."

"I know, it's just that I still can't believe you choose me, out of everyone."

"Oh stop it." I could detect a little bit of annoyance in his voice as he rolled his eyes. "Of course I choose you, you cook for me!" He chuckled.

I laughed too. "Speaking of cooking, lets go eat, I'm starved."

We made our way downstairs and made up our plates and coffee. We settled in the living room and flipped on the tv. It was a Monday morning so we watched the news, catching up on everything that happened over the weekend.

We finished eating, cleaned off our plates, and loaded them into the dishwasher. I glanced at the clock, Harry had to leave for the airport in 4 hours.

I turned to him. "Wanna take a bath?" I asked with a smirk on my face.

His eyes widened and a smile splashed across his face. "Absolutely." He responded.
