The First Day of Summer Vacation..
Desiree's POV
"Desiree... Mya..." I heard my parents calling us.
"Yes?!" We both said in unison.
"We need to talk to you" Mom replied.
"Oh no.." Mya spoke softly to me as we entered the hallway at the same time. We never get in trouble because we don't do anything to tick our parents off, so what could it be.
Our parents were on the lowest level just our luck. We had a pretty wealthy family so we had a pretty big house.
Here's the outside:
We finally reached the lower level and we greeted our parents. They looked at each other multiple times before finally looking at Mya and I.
"Umm..." Mya said attempting to get their attention. That didn't work though. "You're not having another baby are you?" Mya asked trying to hide the fact that she didn't want any other siblings.
"Definitely not, Sweetheart." Dad spoke with his British accent trying to peak out of his newly developed English accent.
"Well..." I spoke with a irritated tone.
"Cousin Naomi is spending the summer with us." Mom said knowing we aren't too fond of Naomi. She can be so stuck in her ways. And she always just bugs Mya and I to the point where we are literally pulling our hair out.
Me and Mya stood there in the middle of the kitchen looking at each other then finally started laughing.
"Mom be serious what did you call us down here for?" Mya asked while we stood there still laughing almost to the point where could have peed ourself.
"She isn't kidding girls... Naomi is spending the whole summer with us." Dad said getting annoyed by us laughing. We instantly stopped laughing and we looked at them eyes locked on each others and couldn't believe what was happening.
" Well I hope you know she is sleeping on the couch in the basement because I don't
trust her anywhere near our rooms." I said folding my arms across my chest.
"Girls what has she ever done to you? You should be family and forgive for what she has done because we know you would like the same if you were in her position." Mom said as she wen't into the kitchen to get a cup and the cartoon of orange juice.
"Your mom's right girls. Whatever happened, happened and should be forgetting and forgiven." Dad said peeking his head from out of the refrigerator.
Mya and I stood there eyes wide open and jaws dropped, not believing what was happening.
"Why are you taking her side." Mya said with emphasis on the her.
"Because she is still family and you should treat her like it." Mom said looking at us both not wanting to talk about it anymore.
"She will be here in 2 hours. In the meantime go set up her room across the hall from your rooms." Dad said with a stern look on his face
"Wait a second... ACROSS THE HALL!!!" Mya said while her facial expression turned from 'not interested' to 'furious'.
"This is so unfair.." I said and with that we stomped away upstairs. You could hear sighs come from our parents mouths as we left the lower level.
Two hours later********
Mya and I heard a car door slam, followed by our door open and shut. Thats when you heard her the click of her heels coming up our marble steps.
"Is she seriously wearing heels? Who is there to impress?" Mya said. I just rolled my eyes.
"Girls..." Our mom said while knocking. We didn't answer because we knew she would be here. Just then she opened the door to my walk-in closet. Mya had one too but only we stayed in mine more often. I don't know why. Soon you see the door open slowly. I gestured Mya to go to the very back of the closet wear I keep my extra make-up.
"Girls... I know you are in here." Mom said appearing closer and closer to us.
"Girls she isn't in here, she went to her room across the hall. I just wanted to come and talk to you." Mom informed while taking her hand out to let us through to the rest of the room.
"I know you haven't been on such good terms with Naomi but she talked to me before coming up. She wants to clear the air with you, so at least put up an effort to get along with her." Mom pleaded trying not to sound too desperate.
" I can't promise anything." I said a bit harsh. Mya just stood there.
"Mya at least try please." Mom said pleading for some peace for the family.
"I don't think I can answer at the moment, and why aren't you questioning her because she cold be lying about wanting 'peace'" Mya said even more harsh.. Suddenly there was a knock on the door...
"Can I come in?" Naomi asked trying to sound innocent. How can you expect me not to roll my eyes? She's pathetic.
"Of course you can sweetie." Mom said trying to hide our little conversation from just a couple seconds ago. I folded my arms across my chest to show I didn't like her little act.
"You girls can catch up." Mom said looking directly at Mya and I. I really hope she doesn't expect us to 'get along' because it's not happening.
We were forced to sit in a room with a person what we really didn't like.Thanks mom. Just, thanks.
"Listen bitch, I am only here to ruin your precious life as a rich girl. So just keep your distance and I won't bother you... As much." Naomi said in that annoying ass voice! Tons of thoughts were racing through my head but before I could say anything Mya beat me to it.
"Hold on this is our house no one invited you, you invited yourself. So you can leave or I'll make you leave." Whoa Mya was always a quiet person, not in front of our parents or friends but definitely when it comes to defending ourselves.
THIS IS GONNA BE A LONG SUMMER!!
