Business Proposal

Their Confession Pt 2

Harry was back in his room, pacing around in circle. He needed to figure out what he was doing with Rose, and he wanted from her. Because she was right their marriage wasn’t because of his uncle’s will or anything else. When he first saw Rose he had immediately made up his mind to have her. And in Harry Styles world he gets want he wanted and that was Rose. He plan was to force her into the marriage, kept her by his side and work out ways to keep her forever. He wanted Rose. His wife and not her sister. He had her once, he thought. He’d seduced her taken her to bed, and then he had fled her room before the morning starts. He had taken her trust in him and trampled it into the ground and she had forgiven him for it. He’d spent the last year with her, getting to know her, laughing with her, being a parent to their daughter. And he had been a better man because of it. She had called their marriage empty and while the words had hurt he understood why she had chosen that term. Because they lived together, dined together, entertained family and friends together, being parents together, but their marriage was a marriage of words not love or by choice. And for the first time in his life harry wanted more than just business proposal but a real marriage with Rose.

Mel standing up from her bed with sleeping Aria, wiping her tear-stained eyes. It had been an incredibly long day and she was worn out. She needed sleep but she was sure that sleep wouldn’t come. She laid Aria and her bed before heading downstairs for a cup of tea to calm her body down. She didn’t want to wake up hangover tomorrow and the last thing she wanted was to have a headache and to deal with Harry. She changed into her pyjamas and washed her face with cold water. She quietly stepped into the hallway, she was careful to close the door behind her so that Aria and Max wouldn’t wake up. In the hallway she noticed that Harry lights was still on which means that Harry was still awake.
In the kitchen, she turned on a soft light over the stove and proceeded to make herself a cup of tea.“It going to be okay,” she thought to herself while sipping her tea.Standing in the dark staring at nothing, she turned back toward the counter to pick up her tea and nearly had a heart attack.
“For the love of God, Harry. Give someone a sign or warning if you’re going to sneak up on them.”
He shook his head. “I wasn’t sneaking. You we lost in thought.”
“Then clear your throat or knock on the wall or something. Geez. I lost five years of my life this night that is if I have any life to spare after that heart attack you just gave me.”
Mel looked over at Harry and he was still in his work clothes but with the tie missing. Mel’s heart tripped over itself as she watched him leaned back against the counter with his arms crossed.
“Why are you still up?” she asked.
Harry gave no sign that he’d heard her. He just stood and looked at her, his gaze falling to her hair, draped over her shoulders, then down her whole body. When his gaze returned to hers there was fire in his eyes. Mel recognised the look as she moved quickly around the kitchen island gabbing her tea as she stand on the other side of the island.
“Rose,” he said quietly, the fire in his eyes still burning as he moved around the island and stood in front of her, close but not touching. She closed her eyes. She honestly didn’t know if she could take any more of this.
“Rose,” he said softly. “I’ll give you the divorce.”
Her eyes flew open to meet his, which were still burning down into hers. She had a moment of pure relief, followed by the most horrible emotional pain that she’d ever felt. “Why?” she managed to ask. Kicking herself for asking, when she should be just accepting and running away from their conversation to go pack her bags with their daughter’s.Why did it matter if he’d allow her to leave? But when she started to tell him that she’d gone in the morningshe found herself asking again, “Why?” she needed to knowif there was any hope here at all for her or their daughter.
“Does it matter?” he asked softly. “It’s what you wanted.”
“Yes it matter, Harry. Is this about the supplement in the will?”
“You were right. This was never about the will.”
“Then why?”
He turned away but not before Mel saw the same pain she felt, reflected in his eyes. Reaching out, she grasped his arm and waited until he turned to face her. “Why, Harry?”
“Because if I don’t let you go now, I won’t be able to ever let you go,” he admitted. Dropping her arm, Mel just stared at him, confusion all over her face, but with a tiny spark of hope igniting in her heart. “I don’t understand,” she said at last. “You...”
“There is nothing to understand?” he said, interrupting her with a harsh tone in his voice. “Just take it and go; I would pay Aria’s monthly support. Takes the divorce and go, Rose.”
“No.” She said with no hesitation.
“Rose.”
“No. Just no Harry.” She stomped her foot in frustration. “Harry, for God’s sake, talk to me. I need to know what you’re thinking and feeling, because Lord knows I’ve never seen you feel real emotion before. If you are feeling anything now at all, you need to tell me. Or we might both turn our backs on the best thing that ever happened to either of us. So you tell me, Harry Edward Styles, and don’t you dare lie to me. Why did you change your mind and why are you now in such a hurry to kick me out the door, when we have two more years to our marriage?”
“Empty years and empty marriage, Rose,” he said with bitterness. She looked at his as if he were crazy, but then her words to him kicked in and she realised what he was talking about. She gently reached out and stroked his cheek with the back of her hand. “Not empty years or marriage, Harry,” she said softly. “My last year with you hasn’t been empty. It’s been...” she stopped, unsure how much she should reveal. Harry was looking at her intently.
She sighed. “Harry. Please tell me why you changed your mind.”
His face usually so devoid of emotion, showed doubt and fear and anguish and Harry let her see it. He looked into her eyes reached up to smooth the hair away from her face and said quietly, “You deserve more than me.” She stood there waiting for his to explain.
“Come,” he said at last, his voice low and even as he held out his hand to her. She looked up at him completely unsure what was happening but wanted to know, once and for all, what he was thinking. She placed her hand in his.
