Chapter 20

“You’re pregnant! Aren’t you, Mitchie?” The question burned through my very core. I was afraid to answer her. Should I tell her the truth or should I lie? I was battling the question that screamed in my mind while she demanded an answer over and over again.
“Hello,” she screamed, waving her hand in my face, “I want to fucking know the answer! Are you or are you not!?”
I snapped out of it and looked at her with a blank gaze. “I can’t believe you’re asking that question.” I thought maybe if I just beat around the bush, she would forget about everything and walk away.
I could tell by looking at her that she wasn’t buying anything I could or even would tell her. Cierra had hardly enough space to breathe her own air. She gazed at me with pure anger and disbelief in her eyes. She knew the answer already, but I kept wondering how she knew this. Or did she even know at all? For all I know, she couldn’t have known and it was just her curiousness that ate away at her insides.
“You know damn well that I’m aware something isn’t right. Why else would he be up your ass like a lost puppy?” the solid statement came out.
I thought to myself ‘Fuck, Mitchie. She knows!’ I tried my very hardest to swallow the lump that was forming hollow in my throat. My body turned to pudding and jello. Fear was washing all over my entire body. This just couldn’t be true.
“Why are you asking me this? Is it important to you? Why would it matter?” I shot question after question. That was my plan. Keep answering her questions with questions.
Once again, Cierra did not buy my role. She quickly lurched at me. “Because no one has seen hair of you! The only exception are Zayn and Perrie, and I’m positive they are in on this too! It’s fucking important here! Have you even told your mother, or are you too scared to even consider thinking about this?”
I shoved her off of me and screamed, “This doesn’t concern you! Get the fuck away!”
Harry was out of the room and prying me away from Cierra in a split second. His voice was intimidating and firm. “If you know what’s best for you, go away, Cierra.”
She was taken back by his harshness. She jumped back a foot, waited a moment, and smiled. “No big deal,” she said. “I’ve told your father anyway.”
“You did what?” I growled a hiss.
She nodded at me. “You’re not deaf. You heard me.”
Harry put me behind him and cornered Cierra. “You’re already on my shit list, girl. That wasn’t your choice to make.” His hands were strained white as he balled up his fists.
“Go ahead, hit me,” she demanded. If he hit her, Cierra knew all she’d have to do is go cry to Perrie, and he would be gone in an instant.
I began to feel nothing but pure hate for her. I never hated anyone, other than my father. But she was proving to me that my hate could expand to even the people I cared for the most. She wasn’t my friend anymore. She wasn’t who I met years ago. For some odd reason, she was colder, darker. Almost as if she was green with envy.
Harry’s fists eased up a little bit. He backed away slowly from her and motioned me to go into my room while he followed close behind. Cierra was determined to get the answers she was stalking desperately for. She wasn’t about to quit. Even when she had the door slammed in her face, she still begged and screamed for the answer until Liam pulled her from the doorway, threatening to get Perrie if she didn’t leave us be.

Harry was in a complete rage war with Zayn. He was screaming and knocking his bare knuckles against the wall so hard that holes were forming. His hatred towards Cierra grew ten times in the last twenty minutes. He was demanding that she be sent back to America before anyone due to her meddling in business that wasn’t hers.
“She’s still my cousin, Harry,” Perrie said when he got in her face. “I can’t just send her back to my aunt without explaining why.”
“Then fucking do it!” He yelled. “All she’s done is ruin this vacation for everyone with her damn mouth!”
“It isn’t that easy, man,” Zayn explained somewhat.
Harry jerked his head to Zayn. “Like hell it is,” he muttered.
“It isn’t,” Perrie agreed.
“Well, why not?!”
Zayn pulled Harry next to me. He sighed and took my hand. Now, he was ready to listen to Perrie’s explanation.
She heaved a deep breathe and continued on talking. “If I tell my aunt Cierra had to leave early, she’ll demand the full truth. And with how Cierra is, if I don’t tell he, then she will tell my aunt, and my aunt will tell Mitchie’s mother.”
Harry shook his head in disbelief, “The bitch is going to tell anyways, isn’t she?”
“That isn’t the point,” Perrie objected in disgust. “We want to buy us time, not fucking blow it because someone got pissed.”
“But she’s going to ruin me and everyone in this house.” I tried to explain to them but to no avail.
Zayn, as usual, was on Perrie’s side. “There isn’t anything we can do to stop her, Mitchie. We have to wade out the storm and pray that she isn’t going to stoop to that level of low.”
“This isn’t fair to Mitchie!” Harry snapped at them. “You’re letting that cunt run shit here!”
Perrie’s face was blood red. “I’m not doing anything of the sort! I’m looking out for Mitchie!”
“You’re not helpful,” his voice was gruff and low.
“Man,” Zayn put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. “It’s going to be alright. She’s with us, and we control this house. Why don’t you go hang out with Louis or Niall? They’ll distract you.”
Reluctantly, Harry agreed. Mainly because I forced him to go on and forget about Cierra’s words. Once he was gone, I pulled Perrie to the side for a moment of discussion alone. My fear wasn’t hidden in my voice. I was no longer fond of Cierra, and I wanted her gone just as much as Harry did.
She shook her head at me. “You know there isn’t anything I can do about this.”
“At least make her stop with this harassment,” I pleaded.
“What more can I do? I’m doing all I can,” She explained.
I blurted, “It feels like you’re siding with her simply because she’s family.”
“Mitchie, that has nothing to do with this! Trust me, Mitchie. I’m looking out for what is best for you and him. Don’t stress over Cierra. She isn’t worth it. I know because I spent a bunch of time with her, and if she isn’t the center of attention, she’s going to find it.”
The words were cold and acidic. Perrie’s tone showed how done she truly was with her cousin and the hiding of everything. It wasn’t Perrie to hide things. Zayn wasn’t phased by the silence much, but Perrie was being ate alive. I hated to see this happen to her. So, I just nodded at her words and left her be. I had something bigger to worry about. Cierra had told my father about my secret. There was no turning away from him now. Soon, I would come face to face with the man I wished so much suffering upon. My own father.
