Chapter 12

Prying the answer out of Cierra, I know, wasn’t going to be easy. However, I didn’t expect it to be as difficult as it was. I hadn’t spoke to her since that night. I had to be honest, I really wasn’t there all myself. I found myself locked up in my bedroom. I was just looking blankly at the wall. I didn’t speak to Niall.
I didn’t exactly blame him simply because I knew better than to drink as much as I did. He did, however, pressure me into drinking. I was debating whether or not to blame him. Something in my body told me not to, so when he apologized, I accepted. There wasn’t any use in holding a grudge against someone who wasn’t able to understand what he was doing even if he was drunk or stoned.
Liam’s voice followed a knock on the door, “May I come in?”
“I suppose,” I said answered.
He opened the door holding a tray that was filled with breakfast food, “Everyone decided you needed to eat something.”
“I’m not really hungry though,” I stated.
Liam put the tray down on the table in front of my bed, “You haven’t ate a thing in three days. You need to.”
I looked up at him, “You won’t stop until I eat, will you?”
“Nope, I won’t,” He smirked.
I smiled at him, and I took a piece of bacon that was on the plate. I began to slowly eat the food.
“Thank you,” I said.
“No problem,” Liam told me. “you needed to fill your belly.”
I continued to look down while I ate. I couldn’t explain why, but I just didn’t want to look at or talk to anyone. I wasn’t sure if it was out of guilt, embarrassment, or just plain rage. All I knew is that I absolutely hated the thought of socialization at the moment, and I didn’t want to go outside to even get a bite of food.
“Hey,” Liam said. I looked up at him. “can we talk?”
“About what?” I asked, swallowing the food in my mouth.
“About what happened the other night.” He slightly told me.
I shrugged my shoulders and looked down, “What is there to talk about?”
“Well,” he began. “there’s tons. I knew I should have told you, but I wasn’t sure how.”
I looked at him, “What do you mean?”
“I mean that I saw your friend there. Whatever his name is. He walked in to the party drunk as hell, and Harry had already threatened to kill him.”
My eyes were wide with shock, “Chance?”
“Yes, that guy!” Liam exclaimed.
I just looked down, “You’ve got to be kidding me.” I said.
“That’s what he told me.” Liam said. “I’m only going with what he told me.”
I laid my head on the pillow and groaned, “That just can’t be.”
Liam put a hand on my shoulder and rubbed it softly, “All I know is what he told me.”
“Where is he?” I asked. I sat myself back up and waited for his response.
“I’m not sure,” He said. “Maybe in the living room or his room.”
I pushed myself off the bed, “I’ll go talk to him.”
Liam took my hand, “Do you think that’s such a good idea?”
“Why wouldn’t it be?” I questioned him.
Liam let go of my hand, looked down, and sighed, “I’m not sure. Something keeps telling me that it isn’t a good idea for you to be around him.”
“So, you’re basically telling me what Louis told me?” I called out defensively.
He stood up and put his hands on my shoulders, “No, I’m not. I’m just trying to help you out here.”
“You really aren’t doing well.” I snapped.
Frustration creased his face, and he threw his arms up in the air. He turned a few times, trying to find the words to say. His face was deep in thought for a moment but there was a knock a the door before he could say anything to me.
“The door’s open!” I called out.
I watched the door creak open softly, and Harry came through the doorway. He looked as if he had spent hours trying to think up a conversation, but when he came in, he seemed to forget what is was he came to say.
He rubbed the back of his head, and he stumbled over his words, “Mitchie…can I-can I-I talk to you for a moment, please?”
Liam held onto my arm. I turned to look at him. All he did was simply shake his head in the no position. I watched him mouth ‘BAD IDEA’. I didn’t listen to him. I pulled my hand away and nodded at Harry. Harry opened the door, and he offered me the first out.

***
As soon as we were out in the hall, I felt Harry’s eyes burrowing into me. I wasn’t sure how to depict him. I turned around, and I was going to ask him what it was he wanted. However, the minute I turned, he had me pressed up against the wall with his lips into my neck.
I was completely caught off guard. It took me a few minutes to understand what it was he wanted from me. The very second my brain was able to understand, I shoved him off of me. He looked at me. I looked at him.
“What the fuck, Harry?” I exclaimed.
He looked down. He didn’t say a single word to me. All he did was look at me while I continued on.
“What in the fuck made you think you could do that to me? I told you no!” I screamed. I went to smack my hand across his face, but he grabbed my hand, and he pushed me to the wall.
“What the hell do you expect me to do, Mitchie? Can’t you see that I want you?” He softly said.
“That doesn’t give you any right to do that to me!” I objected.
He threw his hands down, looked around, and finally looked at me, “Just allow yourself to love someone for once, Mitchie! Just once! I promise you that it isn’t going to kill you, and I won’t hurt you. Please…just once.”
His eyes were locking right onto mine. He was pleading with me, and I wasn’t sure of any emotion. I looked down, and he kept begging me to let him in.
“Just let me in,” he would say over and over.
I looked up at him with tears in my eyes. He leaned his head in and gently kissed me, “I promise I won’t hurt you, Mitchie.”
“I’ve heard that before.” I said.
“I’ll prove it to you. If I didn’t care, I would have left you there to be raped, wouldn’t I? I wouldn’t have tried as hard as I have to keep you safe. You know how many times your dad tried showing up here? More than you can count. You’re guarding yourself, and I can see that it’s destroying what I love about you.”
“You’re joking. We don’t know each other, Harry. It’s impossible,” I tried to say to him.
“I know you, Mitchie. I’ve been there for the past month. I’ve gave you your space, and I have listened to everything you needed to vent. Mitchie, please just listen to me. Give me the chance. If you can’t handle this, then I will leave you alone without any words. I’ll respect you, and I’ll protect you. Just trust me.”
I didn’t look at him, but I could feel his hands around my face. He stroked my cheek with his thumb and kissed my forehead. I simply nodded my head at him. His eyes filled with joy. A smile filled his face. He picked me up and walked me to his room.
