Chapter 2
I closed my eyes and, praying he'd just disappear, pushed the door open, waking to surprise when a hand grabbed my arm.
"New?" said a girl with a very bright smile and a ribbon-tied blonde ponytail.
"Ur, no." I looked to where to boy had been standing and, thankfully my prayers were answered.
She giggles. "I'm Emily Pierce." Her extended hand shook mine; I drew it back quickly. "I'll be your self-appointed tour guide"
Okay so it's wrong to judge on first impressions but it really should be illegal to wear skirts that short to school, and so maybe her perfect skin and confident personality was a little threatening-- maybe it forced a pang of jealousy in me, but the way I saw it, I really just didn't like this girl.
"I really don't need a tour guide." I said hopefully sending her away.
"Okay, but good luck finding anything around here. Kids strip the labels off the doors and switch them around for just this sort occasion." She turned away. " If you want to be the laughing stock then be my guest."
"Okay." I caught up and walked at her pace. " Fine. So where's the main office then? I need to get my schedule."
"Its this way." She pointed forward, smiling. Why the fuck is she so happy? Even her damn ponytail swung when she walked, and though her short shirt and top was so typical, it still was kinda cute.
"So whats your name?" she asked
"Ara-Rose."
She drew a tight breath through her teeth. "Yikes, Do you go by Ara? The whole Rose thing"ll get dropped here anyways, you now, cause is kinda sounds a little old ladyish."
"I guess Ara's fine." Great now I've dropped the Am and the Rose from my name. Whats next?
After exiting the main office with my schedule Emily snatched it right out my hand.
"I hate you." She said looking at my schedule.
"Nice to meet you too" I took the paper back and frowned at it.
"It's just...." She started walking. "You have English with Harry Styles."
"School heartthrob?"
" You guessed it. I mean, he's a bit of a jerk to most girls, but being cute totally excuses that."
This girl has issues. ... "I don't like jerks "
"Ha, he wont be a jerk to you, Harry totally goes for the lost lamb thing, and you've got that down-pat." She motioned to me ,all of me.
"Whatever" I said rolling my eyes
As we got to the door I wanted to keep walking right pasted it to my Dad's house.
"Alright, you ready?" Emily asked
No. "Yes."
She reached for the door knob and the door clinked and pooped open a little, revealing the teacher.
"Emily? What can I do for you?" The man grinned
"This is Ara. She's new" She presented me
"Ah, yes, of course" He turned to face me with one raised eyebrow, seeming not to have noticed me before, as if I blended in with the yellow tilted floor.
"Nice to meet you, Ara" he said with a smile. "Well, I tell you what..." he looked behind him and signaled to someone, then turned back to me with a smile on his face." I have someone to help you with you classwork"
A boy steeped up before I expected him to, and a short gasp escaped through my lips making my heart skip a beat that it would never recover. I wanted to grab Emily, who stifled a giggle beside me, and shake her for being so right and a boy so cute you'd picture yourself in his arms without even knowing his name. As he settled into his lean on the door frame behind Mr.Benson, his casually disheveled brown hair fell into his eyes, and he swept it back with his hand, smiling at me. Any hope of breaking eye contact withered away with the hold of that smile; how his dark-pink lips sat closed and turned up sharply showing off marvelous dimples.
I had to know his name!
"Ara, this is....
