Started in Spain
One
My mind was in deep daydream as my mom called out my name multiple times.
"Alexis do you want coffee or not." She spoke standing right in front of me blocking my view out the window.
"Oh uh sure." I said snapping back to reality.
"What's with the day dreaming lately." My mom called while walking into our kitchen.
"I don't know I guess I just don't want to-"
"Don't you dare say you don't want to go Alexis. You may not enjoy your dads house but you're about to go to Spain so suck it up." She said placing my coffee in front of me. I quietly laughed at her bluntness. I love my dad and his family but I just don't really want to go. Spain is an exciting thought it’s just the timing just seems bad. I'm just not in the mood to see him I guess. Well I would only see him for a few days he is sending us (by us I mean my sister Leah, step mom Karen, and half sister Hannah) to Spain. He wants us to bond so we are staying for two weeks in an island of the coast of Spain at our hotel franchise. My dad is a CEO of a major hotel franchise that chain is in multiple countries. Maybe that was part of why I didn't like staying with my dad his house never felt like a home it felt like a hotel. It wasn't like my dad was a bad dad or I hated my step mom. I loved my family over there but I didn't feel like how it felt with my mom and sister and I. I felt like I was part of my dads other family, which I was but I don’t know it just wasn’t my prefered atmosphere. All these thoughts were racing through my mind as I sipped at my coffee and stared out the window to our backyard.
"What's with her." I heard my sister Leah say to my mom as she pulled her luggage down the stairs.
"I don't know she’s in one of her nostalgic moods again. I guess staring out windows and sipping coffee is like poetic or something." I rolled my my eyes at my mom.
"Are you ready." I said turning to my sister.
"Oh look who's back on earth, yea I am.” We walked out to my car and loaded up the rest of the stuff up. I turned around to face my mom. Who had a sad smile on her face. I really don't think I could handle being without her for two weeks, even though I've left her before.
"Its not too late for me to back out mom." I whispered into her ear as I leaned in for a hug.
"No don't talk like that you're going to go to Spain and going flirt with hot Spanish boys like normal teens dream of and have fun." She said gripping onto my shoulders.
"There's a bit of a language barrier there." I said laughing at her.
"You know enough Spanish plus it’s all in the wink.” She said adding a wink “Now go so you don't get into Florida to late." I gave her one last hug and kiss before saying goodbye. I got into the car as my sister started to say goodbye to my mom.
"Are you ready to party at Gatsby's?" My sister said to me as we backed out of the driveway.
"I wish it was Leonardo there to greet us." I said as we headed onto the long drive to our dads Miami Mansion.
