*Harry's pov*
ms ross, was the reason i hated first period. i can get through waking up at 6am, i can get through english first thing, hell i can get through the constant thoughts of sam and kate that swirled in my mind. but ms ross was terrible. spending every morning with her proved to be why no one liked her. i understand why she's a widow now. class had only been in session for ten minutes and i felt like falling asleep. just as i shut my eyes the door opened. i expected the principle to be dragging in derek like she always did on monday but was surprised when sam walked in. she looked around almost nervously.
"ahh, miss. Rider. thank you for finally showing up for class." the wicked witch of the west sneered. she looked like she was sizing sam up for a fight, though sam didn't look like she would back down.
"your welcome." she sarcastically smiled making me and a few others chuckle. i noticed a few of the guys checking her out and felt my stomach lurch. for some reason it didn't sit well with me. i knew i had no reason to feel this way, i mean she probably hated me.
"if you're done interrupting miss. rider you can take your seat." ms ross added snapping me out of my thoughts. sam took her seat which happened to be next to me. i smiled to myself. i probably looked stupid smiling at nothing but having her sitting next to me everyday would make this class ten times better. ms ross continued 'explaining' the lesson as i heard a few people yawn causing her to shoot them a death worthy glare. i looked over to see sam look as bored as i was. i wanted to see her smile, even if i didn't deserve it.
"you awake?" i asked hoping to even get a smirk from her. unfortunately she rolled her eyes before looking back at the board. i tried to get her to speak to me a few more times before the bell rang for second period. nothing i tried worked and i felt defeated. i stole one last glance at her as i made my way to science.
i took my seat as mr. morgan called roll. derek plopped down in the seat next to me.
"i see you weren't dragged in to class today." i joked.
"well every man needs to clean their act up every once in awhile." he smirked to me. derek may not be the best student, but he sure as hell was my best friend. and i knew this act had to be for someone.
"who is she?" i asked smirking as i copied the notes on the board.
"i don't know yet." he answers doing the same as me.
"what do you mean you don't know yet?" i asked chuckling some.
"come on, you saw the new girl come in today. hell you're so lucky you get to sit next to her. i'd kill for that opportunity." derek added making my heart skip a beat.
"don't tell me are going to have to share a girl mate." derek said obviously seeing my expression.
"Who said anything about sharing? i want her all to myself." i laughed as mr. morgan passed out a paper i assumed was homework.
"who said she'd want you. i mean i'm the obvious choice." he smirked. i loved how easy his humor was with mine. i'm glad he never took anything like this to heart. i worked on the paper as class ended. i walked to third period health with derek, man it was good having all my classes with him sometimes.
"rider huh? well i'd definitely rider her." he smirked as i elbowed him.
"you haven't even talked to her yet and you're being a pervert." i teased.
"and you've talked to her?" he countered.
"yeah at the shop."
"what?! dude, what was it like? was her voice as amazing as it was earlier? what did she say? tell me everything about my goddess." he ranted as we took our seats against the wall. i laughed at his response not expecting him to act like this.
"your goddess?" i asked laughing.
"yes, she's my goddess. now spill curly." he demanded. smiling i continued.
"well i flirted like i always do, and i think she flirted back. and i asked her out but before she said anything kate interrupted. and when i tried to get her to agree she whispered something into my ear in another language or some shit. and when i asked her what it was she left saying it was latin." i said remembering it all again.
"man, you're my hero." he commented as the classroom started to slowly fill.
"you think so? well i think i ruined it." i said earning myself a confused look from my mate.
"what do you mean?"
"well after she walked out kate asked me to go to the movies, i agreed and while there kate kissed me, and unfortunately she saw it. but she was with some guy so i think she may be taken already."
"thats rough. now i got to try and get her away from this mystery guy, but at least i don't go to try to win her from you." he teased making me punch his arm lightly.before i got the chance to say anything else sam walked in.the only open seat was by me and derek so luckily she would have to sit next to us.
"hello," i waved to her hopeful. though she ignored it.
"hi, i'm derek. and i'm assuming your miss. rider?" derek flirted. even though he was my best mate i still wanted to slug him.
"you assumed right." her voice making me look up as she slid into the seat in front of derek.
"so do you want me to call you miss rider, or do you have a first name?" he asked making her turn around and smirk at him.
"it's sam. but i'll let you call me miss rider if you want." she smirked. i hated how she was flirting with him, that should have been me.
"then i think i will." derek smiled at her.
