Harry's Pov
i cant believe i was sitting in the bookstore on another sunday. i had been invited to two parties today, but no i was sitting in the shop till 4 pm. considering how many older women and men came into the shop i felt like i was slowly growing just as old.
"harry, will you re shelve these?" my mum asked pointing to a large stack of books i'm sure half the people in this town hadn't heard of. i sighed before i grabbed the first few and made my way around. sometimes i wish mum hadn't decided to take the management job they offered her. i sat back in my seat behind the counter after i was done. i stared out the window as people passed by. i saw kate and her friends walking toward the shop. they always came by when i was working. i knew one of them had to have taken a fancy to me, but i wasn't quite sure which one yet. without taking my eyes off kates figure outside the door, i heard the door open. i shot my attention there looking for kates group ready to finally ask which one fancied me. instead i greeted all the girls who came in with the usual, "welcome to untitled."
i slowly raked my eyes over kates body before glancing at the other girls, i saw kate smirk before whispering to lacy. they headed toward the back together as i watched them go. i noticed my mum roll her eyes at me.
"do you know her?" mum asked nodding toward a brunette girl i didn't recognize. she looked like one of those girls you always saw hiding in the background trying to not get noticed. i watched as she disappeared behind a shelf. 'why did they have to be so tall?' i asked myself frustratedly. she didn't seem like the other girls i hung out with, she looked like she actually cared about the books we had on display. she wasn't over dressed like kate's group, and she seemed so real compared to them.
"well?" mum asked snapping me out of my thoughts.
"i don't know," i finally answered leaving the counter. i walked toward where she had gone wondering what she was looking for. i watched as she scanned the shelf intensely. i stepped closer to her as she ran her finger along the spine of one. she must of noticed i was there because she turned toward me. she was absolutely gorgeous. i loved the way her hair curled slightly, as if she had slept on it. she had a simple beauty to her that left me speechless.
"hello?" her voice snapped me out of my thoughts. her voice was light like she didn't know what to expect.
"sorry, i must have gotten lost in your eyes." i tried smirking as she rolled her eyes. it was cute on her, unlike the other girls that swarmed me at school. "um, is there anything i could help you find? like a specific author, or maybe even get your name?" i added hoping to learn this beauty's name.
"why would i need your help to get my own name?" she teased. her eyes turned a lighter shade. they were a perfect mixture of green and brown, making mw want to get lost in them again.
"well if you already know it i would love to learn it." i added seeing her small smile grow slightly.
"it's sam, and i'm assuming your harry?" she informed me.
"you assumed right," i chuckled loving how she spoke. "if you found everything you needed, how about i take you out to lunch?" i tried wanting to get to learn more about her. before she could answer kate cut us off from the end of the shelf.
"harry can you help me find something?" she asked innocently, though i knew it was anything but.
"just a minute kate," i replied giving sam an apologetic look. as i was about to ask for her answer i noticed she was walking away. i tugged lightly on her shirt gaining her attention once again. "if you want to wait a few minutes i'll be able to escape." i said smiling at her hoping she would agree. i smirked as she leaned into my ear.
"aliud tempus," she said her warm breath hitting my ear.
"what does that mean?" i asked slightly confused and a little turn on.
"it's latin," she smirked before walking out of the shop. i stood there frozen in my place not knowing what to do. she was amazing, and i had to know more about her. by what i could tell she was the type that made you want more, and left you hanging on to their words like you would die without hearing them.
"harry?" i heard kate call. i slowly made my way over to her. only wanting to stand and think about the girl that i had just met.
"what did you lovely ladies need?" i kindly asked. i saw lacy whisper something into kate's ear, was lacy the one who fancied me? i asked myself.
"i wanted to know if you wanted to catch a movie with me tonight," kate asked placing her hand on my arm lightly. i stood in shock for a moment as i thought about the question. could she really like me? was she doing this for lacy? these questions played through my mind before i finally answered.
"sure i'd love to." i smiled kindly before heading back to the counter.

i opened the car door for kate as we arrived at the movie theater. i couldn't help but let my min d fall to sam again. i felt bad that my mind kept doing this while i was on a date, but i couldn't help it. i bought us our tickets as we entered the building. i noticed a girl who looked like sam standing in line to enter the movie. i decided it had to be my mind playing tricks on me. i sighed lightly as me and kate made our way into our movie. we sat in silence as the movie played. i felt kate lean into me and i wrapped my arm around her easily.
the movie finally came to an end and we were exiting. kate seemed content as we made our way back toward the front. as we were going i noticed the girl again but thought nothing of it. kate must have seen me looking at the girl because she suddenly stopped me landing a kiss to my lips. i closed my eyes as i enjoyed the moment, but i felt eyes on me. i looked over to the girl again as kate and i pulled apart. i finally realized it wasn't some random girl, but it really was sma. i felt terrible, but then i noticed a guy about our age was with ehr. he wrapped his arm around her protectively as she turned to face away form me. who was he? did she already have a boyfriend? god i feel like a jerk, i had asked her out no less than 5 hours ago and now i was off kissing someone else. did she see me and kate's kiss? all these things floated around in my head as i drove kate back home.
"good night harry," kate practically purred before giving me another quick kiss before heading to her door. what the hell am i going to do?
