Chapter 35
Jessica's P.O.V
I've been in Los Angeles for the past 3 weeks now. I've stayed in the hospital all day every day despite the nurses and doctors trying to get me to go home. I'd only been home each day to shower and then I would go straight back to the hospital. Christmas and New Years had come and gone. I spent them both with Gigi, as did the rest of my family. I talk to Harry everyday on the phone, and we text all day whenever we are awake, because ya know, time differences and what not. He spent Christmas with his family in Cheshire. I had received well wishes from Anne and Gemma, as well as from Eleanor, Perrie, Danielle and all the the guys. The guys start the second leg of their tour near the end of January which is only 2 weeks away. My only wish was that Gigi would be better by then so I could see my Harry again. As much as it hurt me to be away from him, I needed to spend this time looking after my little sister. Family always comes first.
Harry's P.O.V.
It was a week after New Years, exactly 23 days since I last saw Jessica. Although we talk every single day, it's doesn't quite justify not being with her. 23 days since I last held her hand. 23 days since I last wrapped my arms around her. 23 days since my lips touched hers. Every day was a little harder without her. I just missed her so much. I had planned on visiting her over Christmas but my mom told me it was probably best to leave her to mind Gigi for a little while. It's hard being away from her when all I want to do is go and be there to help her and comfort her. I occupied my time by hanging out with Gemma most days. She's a good sister. She knows how to distract me and keep my mind busy.
“So how's Jessica?” Gemma asked one day when we were out in London.
“She doesn't really tell me how she is. When I ask, she usually just says 'good' or 'fine' and then changes the subject. It's hard to communicate with her lately” I explained.
“Has she mentioned if her sister has gotten any better?” she asked.
“No, I know she gets upset talking about Gigi so I try to avoid the subject. I do ask sometimes but she just kinda mumbles so..” I went on.
Gemma didn't say anything to that. I guess, like me, she didn't really know what to say about the situation.
Later that day, I went to visit Niall in his house in London. I knew he hadn't seen Kendall in the same amount of time I hadn't seen Jessica, so I suppose he felt that same way I did. We ordered dinner and ate it in front of the tv while watching a football match.
Just after we ate, Kendall called Niall on FaceTime. It was 10am Los Angeles time, so Kendall must call him everyday when she wakes up. I was going to leave and give them some privacy, but Niall kept me involved in their conversation.
“Are you okay Harry?” Kendall asked in the middle of the conversation.
“He misses Jessica a lot that's all” Niall said, covering for me so I didn't have to talk about it myself.
“Well it shouldn't be long before you see her” Kendall smiled.
My eyes shot up.
“What do you mean?” I asked, confused.
“I went to keep Jessica company in the hospital last night, and just as I walked in to the hospital room, Jess was with a nurse holding a bucket in front of Gigi who was being sick into it” Kendall said.
Niall and I both crinkled our eyebrows in confusion, making Kendall roll her eyes.
“When a person wakes up from a coma, sometimes they vomit” she continued, “she's allowed to leave the hospital in a few days”.
I couldn't control the smile on my face as it grew. My heart began to beat faster and butterflies fluttered in my stomach at the thought of seeing my Jessica soon.
“Are you serious?” Niall and I both said at the exact same time, making us and Kendall laugh.
“Yeah! The two of us shall be joining you both at the start of your next tour leg” she smiled again.
I looked at Niall to see the smile on his face was just as big as mine. I haven't been this happy in a really long time.
