*Peyten’s pov*
“niall what ar-” i started. “what did Elizabeth say to you in the club?” niall demanded cutting me off. Niall entered my living room as i closed the door. i thought about Elizabeth’s words again, deciding that i didnt want to cause anymore trouble. “she just told me she wanted to meet me for lunch tomorrow since i had to leave early.” i lied trying to make my story seem believeable. “please dont lie to me,” niall says quietly looking into my eyes. “um…” is all i could manage to say out before a knock came from the door. i turned to go answer it, when niall grabbed my wrist turning me to face him. “please answer me,” he demanded softly. before i got the chance to answer him the knocking turned into pounding, and i knew i had to answer it over his question. i went to the door leaving a hurt looking niall on my couch. i expected to find a pissed off Elizabeth on the other side, but was shocked to find my cousin with all her bags. “finally.”she huffed pushing passed me. before i could grab her she entered the living room. “your…oh my god…when were you gonna tell me you knew niall horan?” she turns looking at me. “Peyten? which way to your room?” niall asks cautiously “the door beside the desk” i say pointing to it. “i’ll meet you there after you talk to…” niall said heading toward the door. “Courtney.” my cousin quickly informs him. “why didnt you tell me you knew him?” courtney presses after he closes the door, jealousy badly hidden in her voice. “why didnt you tell me you were coming over?” i countered. “because i knew you were single and never had anyone over here. so i figured you’d enjoy actually having someone over here.” she stated her voice rising. and i knew niall would hear it. i didnt want to cause a fight when niall was just behind the door so i let it go. “fine you can stay, but right now i have someone to talk to.” i say heading into my room.
*nialls pov*
i heard how awful courtney was being to Peyten and i hated it. i wanted to stand up for her, protect her. Peyten didnt know that i knew what Peyten said to her, or that we broke up because of it. right now i just wanted to show Peyten how much i truly cared for her. the door opening snapped me out of my thoughts. “hi,” she says quietly sitting on the bed next to me. “does she always talk to you like that?” i ask. “yeah,” she chuckled looking down at the floor. “you shouldnt listen to Elizabeth.” i told her taking her hand in mine, rubbing the top of it with my thumb. “what?” she practicly whispered. “i know she told you that you didnt matter, and that know one cared, ” i started noticing a tear run down her cheek. i wiped it away looking into her eyes before i started again. “and i wanted you to know how wrong that statement is.” she smiled shyly looking down again. i wanted to kiss her, but before i got the chance courtney opened the door surprising both of us. “Peyten, Logan is out out here, and he wants to talk to you.” courtney said leaving again.
Peyten followed after her slowly her. “Peyten!” the boy i figured was Logan, exclaimed wrapping his arms around her waist. “what are you doing here?” Peyten asked cautiously. “im staying in London for a few months and wanted to know if you wanted to have lunch with me tomorrow, so what do you say?” he asked her ignoring mine and courtneys stares. Peyten’s answer broke my heart, “sure.” he kissed her on the cheek before leaving. the thought that he was kissing and holding Peyten so close made me mad, i wanted to be the only one to do that. but now i was unsure if she would want me to be that guy. courtney excused her self to go take a shower leaving me and Peyten alone, so i took my chance “who was he?” “logan, my ex.” this news hurt, but not as bad as earlier. “do you still love him?” i asked not sure if i was ready for the answer.
