From Darkness Comes Light (A Zayn Malik Fan Fiction)
Getting Ready
I woke up the next morning to the sound of my phone ringing. “Hello?” I said into my phone. “Hiiiii I just landed at the airport where are you guys?” said my sister Kari. “Crap I over slept” I said rushing to get clothes on. “Let me wake Sarah up and we’ll be there in a few.” “Ok I’ll be in terminal B when you guys get here” she said and hung up. After I got my clothes on I went to Sarah’s room and knocked on the door.
When I didn’t get an answer I pushed open the door to find Sarah on her bed lightly snoring. “Sissy wake up we have to go get Kari from the airport.” I said lightly shaking her awake. When that didn’t work I started jumping up and down on the bed “Wake. Up. Wake. Up.” I shouted repeatedly “Ugh fine I’m up I’m up already” she said in a low morning voice.
Once we finally got out of the house we made our way to the airport. Since Sarah had a hangover I had to drive. “So what happened last night?” she asked “Well these guys try to attack us and this guy I met at the club saved us.” “Oh yeah I vaguely remember that.” She said nonchalantly. “So what’s his name.” she said getting a little excited for someone who has a hangover. “Zayn…” I said simply “Oh come on Ray you have to give me more than just that” “Ugh fine his name is Zayn and I met him last night at the bar while you were dancing your little ass off” I said laughing.
“He saved us last night and helped me carry you back to our apartment and then asked me on a date tonight at 8” “Oooooo you’ve been here all of one day and you already have a date with a hot guy.” She said nudging me in the arm a little bit. “It’s not like that it’s just a way for me to pay him back for being so nice to us, nothing more.” “Mmmmhmmm ok sure it isn’t” she said with a cheeky smile.
We pulled up to the airport and started searching for terminal B. Once we got there we saw Kari sitting down with her earphones in her ears. I quickly jumped into her lap scaring her half to death. “Dude what is wrong with you?!” she said obviously startled. “Are you trying to give me a heart attack?” “What? No never” I said and started to laugh. We engulfed ourselves in a big group hug, my little family finally back together again.
While we were walking back to the car Sarah and I filled Kari in on what has happened thus far. “So this Zayn guy, where is he taking you tonight?” Kari asked getting just as excited as Sarah had. “I have no idea. I don’t even know what I’m going to wear on this so called date” If it wasn’t apparent already I’m not big on dates, I couldn’t tell you the last time I’ve been on a date. “Out of all the clothes you have in your closet you can’t find anything to wear?” asked Sarah in a shocked tone. “To be honest I haven’t given it any thought.” “Well when we get back Kari and I are definitely raiding your closet!” Sarah said as they both started squealing.
By the time we got back to the apartment it was 3p.m. which meant I had a few hours to kill. Sarah immediately went for my closet. After getting settled in Kari joined her. I just sat on my bed watching them debate on what I should wear. It took them two hours until they decided on a dress and black heels
“You’re going to look hot!” Sarah said excitedly “Zayn won’t be able to keep his hands off you let alone his eyes.” Said Kari in an equally excited voice. “Well let’s hope he does keep his hands off of me, I mean it’s one little date its nothing special.” I said nonchalantly. “Oh come on Rayvane you could at least act a little happy that a hot guy wants to take you on a date.” Sarah said throwing her hands up in the air. I ignored her “Well you guys I’m going to go and shower now” I said getting up off of my bed. “When you get out Sarah and I can do your hair and make-up to complete your look.” Kari said getting even more excited than before.
“Oh the joy” I said under my breath and started to exit to my bathroom. I got the water as hot as I could stand it and started to wash away all of the stress I had been carrying for the past day and started singing to myself.

After a while I got out and wrapped a towel around myself to get dressed. The girls left me alone for a while so I could put my clothes on. Once I was situated I stepped out into the living area where they were. “So what do you think?” They eyed me up and down “You look hot.” They said in unison. “Now time for the finishing touches” Kari said as the both push me into Sarah’s room and started doing my hair.
It took them an hour and a half to finally figure out what they wanted my hair and make-up to look like.By the time they were done it was 7:45. Great only 15 minutes until Zayn was here. I could actually feel myself getting nervous. I took one last look at myself before I heard a knock at the front door. “I’ll get it!!” was all I heard as Kari ran to the door.
“Hello love I’m here to pick up Rayvane is she ready?” Zayn ask “Ssure I’ll go get her” she said obviously taken by his beauty. “He’s here he’s here!!” Kari came running into my room silent screaming. I laughed at her as I walked out of my room to see Sarah chatting up Zayn. “Okay I’m ready.” I said to get their attention. Zayn looked at me up and down before he said anything. “Wow even more beautiful than before.” “Thanks” I said trying my hardest not to blush.
“Well ladies I’m afraid I must take this lovely lady away from you for a few hours hope you don’t miss her too much.” He said giving the girls a cheeky wink leading me out of the door. “Have fun you too” I heard Kari yell. “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do” yelled Sarah. I laughed a little those two are nuts…
