Living a Nightmare

I stood there with what must have been a dumb look on my face. I wanted to die, right there and then. I wish I had died at the car scene. I dragged my body over to Niall’s bedside and held his hand Ias tightly as I could. The nurse had left the room to get someone to come in and help us. Harry hugged me tightly, trying to make me feel better. Soon after he started hugging me, everyone gathered around and we all group hugged.

“I’m gonna go back to my room, can someone take me?” I ask quietly.

Louis nods and grasps my good arm, beginning to lead me back to my room. As we were heading back to the room, Louis tries to spark up a conversation.

“He’s going to make it, Rai. Niall’s strong like that. I bet he’s trying to wake up, trying his hardest, to be able to stay with you. He knows you don’t want to lose him. Trust me, I know Niall.” Louis assures me.

I shrug my shoulders and keep slumping back to the room. I didn’t want to talk about this anymore. I just wanted to go back to my room, lay down, fall asleep and hope this was all just a horrible nightmare. I knew it wasn’t, but I just wanted to convince myself it was. Louis finally gets me to my room and helps me get into bed. He smiles and goes over to his backpack, pulling out a book. He sits down in the chair next to me, and begins reading.

“You don’t have to stay Louis. You can go back to everyone if you want to. I’ll be fine.” I inform him.

“I know. I want to be here though.” Louis replies.

I sigh, knowing Louis, I would never be able to convince him to go back. I try not to turn onto my side, something I would do all the time when trying to fall asleep. It was going to be a lot harder to sleep now, but hopefully I’ll get used to it. I closed my eyes and listened to the steady breathing coming from Louis. I was seconds from falling asleep when I quietly hear Louis say something.

“Rai, I know you’re probably asleep but I’m going to say this now. Niall is going to be ok. I just want you to know that. He’s going to make it. He won’t die. Also, I know this is the worst time to be saying something like this. But, you’re asleep so it’s not like you can hear me. I just need to get this out of my system, well without you knowing. I- I think I’m falling in love with you. There, see Louis you got it out without her knowing.” Louis mutters.

Wait, hang on. The Louis who was weeks ago in love with Emily was now falling in love with me. The Louis who was silly, funny, and totally adorable was in love with me? How could this possibly happen? Well, I mean, I know how it could happen but still! I quickly closed my eyes when I heard Louis shift differently in his seat. He towers over me in a quiet and gentle way, giving me a kiss right next to my lips. It was a soft brush, gentle and welcoming. No, Rai stop. It’s not going to be another free for all battle it out for the love winner. I’m in love with Niall, and Niall only. Louis, well Louis is Louis. He could find a girlfriend in just seconds and be perfectly happy with her. I wasn’t going to give up all of Niall’s hard work just to fall into Louis’s trap. Nope, not going to happen. Right after that thought, I passed out, a deep sleep which was longer than I expected. Much longer.

I opened my eyes and right away I was practically blinded. A bright light shining in my eyes. It took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust when I realized it was just the sun beating into the room. I looked over to my side and saw Louis dead asleep on the same chair. I take my good arm and shake him awake and he bolts up.

“Oh, good afternoon Rai. You were asleep for quite a while.” Louis smirks.

“How long was I asleep? It didn’t feel very long.” I debate.

“You were fell asleep two nights ago. So almost two days.” Louis says, a weird nodding look on his face.

I was asleep for a whole two days? I look over to the white board, posted up in the room and sure enough it was marked that I had been asleep for two straight days in a row. They put it under the health concerns which surely wasn’t, but at the same time I could see why it was. After a few minutes, a nurse walked in and told me the boys had all taken a flight back to London. The girls had gone back to the hotel, and management had already rescheduled all the concerts for the next month. I turn to Louis with a concerned face.

“You didn’t go back to London with the boys? I know Niall surely is still here, but why didn’t you go back? You know this is really bad right? What if you don’t get back in time, and you miss recording, and the album gets delayed-“I panic, but Louis cuts me off.


“Rai its fine. Calm down, I chose to stay here to be with you and Niall.” He emphasizes “you”.

Sure sign Louis likes you. He will chose to stay with you rather than go back to London for recording. Sure sign number two. He tells you he loves you when he thinks you’re asleep. Sure sign number three, he thinks you don’t know, but you do, and you don’t know what to do about it. Well, I’m not sure that last one is a sign, but you get what I mean.
