Skype Call
I am sitting up in my room at my house back home in Wolverhampton, England. I was bored so I decided to get on Skype for a bit. I grab my laptop and open it. After pressing the power button, I wait for it to start up. Once it boots up, I type in my password. After it comes on, I log in to my Skype account.
Once I log in, that is when I notice he was online. He is my longtime best friend Liam James Payne, yes the Liam Payne from worldwide famous boy band, One Direction. You are probably wondering how I know him. Well, I grew up with him; we’ve been best friends since we were really young. Ever since he tried out for the X-Factor two years ago, we’ve talked a bit and we’ve texted a bit as well.
It’s been a little while since I last heard from him. That is when I decide to call him and see what he’s up to. It would be actually pretty fun if I went to go see him especially since it is summer. I wouldn’t really have to do much except pack a suitcase full of clothes for almost 3 months and then I would ride the tube down to London because it would be much cheaper than driving. I smile and press the call button. I wait a few minutes for his picture to come up on the screen.
A few minutes later, he comes up on the screen.
“Madison!” he smiles as he looks at me on the web cam. “How are you, love? It’s been a while.” He says, his lips curving up in to a big smile. I noticed his hair was a lot shorter than it used to be.
“I’m doing good, Li. How about you? I miss my best friend,” I say, smiling.
“I’m doing well myself, just chilling here at the flat with Dani and the lads. What about you, love? I miss you too, Mads.” He says as I notice a tall girl come on the screen and take a seat next to Liam. I’m guessing that had to be Dani or Danielle, his girlfriend. I’ve heard him talk about her before but never put her name with her face.
“Not much, just sitting up here in my room, relaxing. I’m thinking about coming down to see you for the summer.” I tell him and smile.
“Really? Sounds great, love. I’d really like to see you. I want you to meet my mates who are in the band with me. How soon can you come?” he asks with a warm smile on his face.
I smile at him before I open my mouth to speak. “Sounds fun, can’t wait, Li. Um, is next week too soon?” I ask, smiling.
“Not at all, I’ll pick you up at the tube station. Can’t wait to see you!” he says as he pulls the girl beside him closer to him before looking back at me.
“And this here, is my girlfriend, Danielle,” Liam gestures to the pretty girl who was beside him. She smiles and waves to the camera, laughing. I let out a small laugh myself. It is kind of funny yet awkward at the same time since we haven’t met each other in person but instead over a Skype call.
“Hi, I’m Danielle, I’ve heard so much about you from Liam, here,” she smiles and puts an arm around his shoulder.
“Hey.” I smile and wave at the camera. “I’m Madison, one of Liam’s long time best friends,” I say with a warm smile on my face. She seemed super nice and like someone I could become close with.
After talking with her a few minutes, she excuses herself to go get something, leaving Liam sitting in front of the camera alone.
“So, I’ll see you next Monday then?” I ask, smiling at my best friend.
He nods and smiles. “See you then, Mads. I’ll be there waiting to pick you up, love,” Liam says, a warm smile on his face.
“Well, I’m going to start packing and go order my ticket, Li. I’ll see you soon!” I smile widely and wave to him on the web cam.
“See you soon, love,” he smiles and waves back before we end up the call.
With that, I log out of my Skype account before shutting my laptop and getting up and going over and pulling my suitcase out that was lying on the floor at the bottom of my closet.
After I set my suitcase up on my bed, I begin to pack my bags with three full month’s worth of clothes along with my accessories as well. It takes me a good hour to an hour and a half or so to finish packing. All I had left to do now is buy my ticket for the tube.
I can’t wait to go to London and get away for the summer. I can tell it was going to be one crazy fun summer since Liam will be introducing me to his band mates as well. Later that night, I crash and fall asleep, dreaming of how this summer will go in London.
