Chapter 43
Two Months Before Eleanor's Death (Past)
Eleanor's P.O.V
"Are you ready?" Alison asks whilst applying another layer of lip gloss.
"Almost" I say walking into my closet to decide what purse to add to my outfit.
I confronted Louis about texting Hannah and he showed me their texts. Of course Hannah was the flirter of the conversation but Louis promises to text her every now and then than constantly.
Today Alison, Hannah and I are going to the mall to go shopping for New York. Nelly left early this morning and hasn't been replying to me and Hannah's texts so I guess she must be busy or something. I can't wait to see New York for the first time...so many people talk about it that it makes even more excited to see it myself.
I chose to not take a purse at all I mean...I have pockets anyways. I walk out of my room following Alison and shutting off my bedroom lights.
"Where's Hannah?" she asks
"She's gonna meet us there" I say smiling and opening the front door. She nods and I lock the apartment walking down the hallway.
Two Hours Later
Eleanor's P.O.V
"Do you like this one?" I ask the girls as I walk out the dressing room in a floral dress with a thin pink belt.
"Gorgeous!" Alison sings clapping her hands and taking a sip of her coffee
I spin around with the train going crazy, "You better get a pay check because that is hot!" Hannah says laughing.
We all laugh and I go back in the dressing room to change. I grab the seven pieces of clothing that I absolutely love and leave the others to be picked up after.
"You guys ready?" I ask the girls. They nod and grab their pile of clothing following me to the cash register.
"Did you pick a dress to wear to the funeral?" Hannah asks.
I nod solemnly holding my necklace, I'm invited to attend Mary's funeral this Sunday. Mary...the beautiful old lady that gave me confidence and the safety along with this gorgeous necklace. She died. I'm pretty sure red coat murdered her but the police say that she just "stopped breathing". Knowing what red coat is capable of...I now keep my eyes wide open.
"Thank you" I thank the worker as she hands me my large bag.
"Where to?" Alison asks
"Wherever you guys wanna go." I say smiling. It's nice to just have a normal day out of the house.
"How about we walk around?" Hannah suggests
"Great idea...I'm in the mood for a walk anyways" I say opening the door and walking down the sidewalk between my two friends.
We walk for a little and make a turn at the corner. I look around at the different faces, it's been a while since red coat or black hoodie has done anything to me. Maybe he/ she has given up.
I feel a nudge on my shoulder and look over at Alison who motions her head to the side. I look over to see a red coat turn suddenly with her back facing us.
"Is that her?" Hannah whispers.
I nod slowly, "Let's get her." Alison whispers. Alison gets a good grip on her bag and runs towards red coat, red coat looks behind slightly and starts to run. I look at Hannah and we both run after the girls.
Red coat runs across the street with her heels click clacking. Alison and I are about the same speed, looking back to see Hannah running behind us.
Red coat runs into an apartment but Alison nudges at me, "It might be a set up." she says out of breath
"I don't think so" I say quickly before rushing into the building.
I look around and see a flash of red coat. I run up the stairs,leaving my bags at the end of the staircase with Alison looking up at me.
"Be careful!" she warns.
I waste no time running up the stairs to see red coat look for an escape. It's just me and her now up on the second level with way out except the stairs which I block. She looks behind and there she stood. With no mask was...
