Tattoos On The Heart

“What do you mean you don’t know what I’m talking about?” I asked Kat as we walked into our hotel room in Houston. “You definitely know what I’m talking about.”

“Harry, you’re being really annoying and loud,” Kat commented as she threw her bag onto a table while simultaneously kicking her shoes off and falling backwards onto her bed, located closest to the A/C unit.

“You’re telling me you didn’t know Lyla moved to Houston to work at a tattoo shop? How could you not know?” I asked her, lying down on my back, beside her.

“Because, Harry! I told Lyla and I’s mutual friends to never mention that skank’s name around me. I don’t care what she does!” I watched as Kat blew some of her hair off her face and got up, walking into the bathroom where she slammed the door shut. I laid on the bed, incredibly confused, as I stared in the direction that Kat went. I let out an exasperated sigh before heaving myself off the bed and walking over to the restroom door.

“Kat,” I said as I leaned my head on the door and softly knocked on the wooden board. I couldn’t hear any noises on the other side. “I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t know I was pushing a button by asking a simple question.”

Just as I about gave up on trying to get her to come out, I fell forward as she opened the door. Tear stains on her cheeks.

“You didn’t ask a simple question, Harry. You fucking pestered me about it.”

“I know! And I’m sorry, okay. I just thought you might have known,” I told her, pulling her into a hug.

“If I knew, I wouldn’t have come to the Houston date, duh.”

“You’re right. Why were you crying?” I asked her, wiping away the tear stains that were left on her cheek.

“I miss my best friend, okay? Now leave me alone,” Kat said as she pushed past me and went back to her bed where she crawled underneath the covers. “I just want to take a nap. Sitting in the sun, watching you dicks take pictures is exhausting.”

I smiled at her before I waltzed over to her bed and slid my shoes off. I pulled back the blankets, on the side next to her and climbed in. She turned over to face me with confusion written on her face. “What do you think you’re doing?”

“Taking a nap as well,” I told her as I closed my eyes, a smile set on my face.

“You have your own bed five feet away,” she mentioned and I cracked one eye open to look at her.

“This one’s comfier,” I told her before closing my eye again. “In plus, you’re sad and the perfect thing for sadness is Harry cuddles.”

“I’m not cuddling with you,” she said before turning over, signaling she was done talking to me. I smiled at her before turning onto my side, facing her.

“We’ll see about that,” was all I said before I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

A few hours later I woke up to someone consistently knocking on the door to my room. I slowly opened my eyes and when I looked down I saw Kat’s head resting on my chest. I cracked a smile at the sight in front of me before slowly pulling myself out from under her.

“Come back, you’re comfy,” Kat said as I got out of bed. I shook my head at her ridiculously before going to open the door. Louis and Niall stood on the other side of the door, Louis with a look of mischief on his face.

“What do you two wankers want? I was asleep,” I said as I leaned against the door frame.

“Get ready. We’re leaving in two hours to go out. Tell Kat,” Louis said before he and Niall walked down the hallway to their room. Now I know why Louis looked mischievous, I’m supposed to make my move tonight. I rolled my eyes before closing the door and when I turned around Kat was sat up in bed, scrolling through her phone.

“What ya doin’?” I asked her as I threw myself across the foot of her bed.

“Todd sent me a picture of O’Malley chewing up a chord and said my cat might not be alive when I get back,” she said non-chalantly.

“Doesn’t that worry you? O’Malley is like your child.”

“Todd would never do anything to him. He loves that cat. What did Louis want?” She asked me as she threw her phone beside her.

“Oh! We’ve got to ready to go out tonight,” I told her as I sat up and walked over to my bags.

“Okay, mind if I shower first? I feel all gross,” Kat said as she pulled some things out of her bag.

“Nope go ahead. I don’t plan on showering,” I told her and I heard her gag. “What?”

“That’s disgusting. You need to shower, you smell.” Was all Kat said before she walked into the bathroom and I heard the shower start running. I smiled to myself while flipping through the menu for room service. Deciding I should probably eat something before I consume any alcohol. I wanted to make a move tonight, not fuck up my chances.

An hour and a half later I finished eating my chicken salad sandwich when Kat finally emerged from the bathroom. I looked up at her and my mouth went slack. She looked stunning. I’d never really seen her so dressed up before because we’d only gone to bars, not clubs. She wore a tribal printed dress that painted her body with pastels and black. Her long brown hair was pulled off to the side in a braid, showing off the tattoos on her shoulder blades. The shoes she was wearing added a good six inches to her height, almost making her eye level with me, which I’m glad she was still a bit shorter than me. I couldn’t help but stare at her ass as she dug through her bag. The dress really made it pop.

“Harry? Are you going to sit there and act like you’ve never seen a girl in a dress before or are you going to take your hobo self into the bathroom to get ready?” Kat said as she put her earrings on and stared at me. I shook all the dirty thoughts I was having out of my mind and stood up, grabbing my clothes from my bed and walked into the bathroom to get ready for the night.

I have a feeling I’m going to fuck up tonight.
