Piper’s POV
“I have amazing news!” I sang as I waltzed into the dorm room grinning widely.

“Oh really?” Sam asked grinning and then I looked to see we had a guest in our room; a boy to be more exact.

“Hi,” I said blushing from embarrassment, “I’m Piper and I’m thinking you think I’m the super weird roommate.”

“Spencer,” he said laughing lightly, “No I don’t but I can totally see you as my sister’s roommate.”

“Oh you’re the overprotective brother,” I said smiling lightly, “Surprise visit?”

“You have no idea,” Mac said shaking her head.

“You didn’t tell him about Nialler did you?” I asked and Mac turned a deep shade of red.

“Niall?” he asked, “Was that the boy on the computer?”

“Thanks,” Mac said and I grinned sheepishly.

“I’m not very good with family things,” I said, “We’ve been over this a million times.”

“Tell me who this Niall character is,” Spencer demanded and I rolled my eyes.

“Have you taken your brother to the coffee shop down the block?” I asked grinning, “You have to take him! They have the best green tea in the world!”

Spencer looked like he was about to protest but I grabbed his hand.

“Come on,” I said, “We can all go! I’m buying because we’re celebrating tonight!”

“Why?” Mac asked confused but laughed at my excitement.

“Because I finished my last piece!” I exclaimed and both Mac and Sam squealed with me giving me a giant hug.

“Do you have a picture?” Sam asked, “I want to see a picture.”

“Of course,” I said rolling my eyes, “I had to send one to Liam.”

Mac and Sam both rolled their eyes and Spencer was a bit confused.

“I’m a fashion major,” I said as we walked down the street.

“And that’s supposed to explain everything,” he said confused.

“You’ll see soon enough,” I smiled and we walked inside.

We all got something to drink and found a booth in the back. I pulled out my phone and showed the girls and Spencer my dress I had just finished.

“Oh my god,” Mac said in shock.

“You’re really talented,” Spencer said smiling at me.

“Thanks,” I said and blushed.

Soon I changed the topic and got Spencer talking and Sam and I got to see into the lives of Mac and Spencer. Spencer told a lot of embarrassing stories which caused Mac to groan and redden like a tomato but they were amazing. The stories made me realize how much of a family I really didn’t have. My parents really didn’t want to have children and I was an oops baby. I was left alone most of the time growing up whether it was my uncle and his wife or a nanny. My parents spent most of their time traveling for my dad’s really successful coffee company that he owned. I was brought out of my thoughts when Sam nudged my arm and I looked up to see that Spencer had gone to the restroom leaving me, Mac, and Sam in the booth.

“You okay?” Sam asked and I tried giving them convincing smiles.

“Fine,” I said, “Just thinking about things.”

“Like what?” Mac asked and I just shrugged my shoulders.

“Stuff,” I said as Spencer slid back into the booth.

Both Mac and Sam gave me a look telling me that our conversation wasn’t over just yet but at that point I kind of hoped it would. No one needed to worry about me. I was a strong independent woman. I could handle anything even feeling unloved by my parents.
