Stole My Heart

17

November had come and gone and December was clearly upon us. Snow lay on the streets of London. Christmas lights and other décor were decorating the city. I smiled. I loved Christmas time. I snuck my hand into Harry’s as the lads and Lucy and I walked the streets. It was easy for them to cover up this time of year, so we had no problems with mobs.

“I love this time of year!” I exclaimed. “It’s such a happy time. I love the holidays.”

“Me too,” Lucy agreed happily. She and Niall were still going strong and spent nearly every day together. I loved that they loved each other.

“Did you get your Christmas shopping done?” I asked. Harry nodded a sparkle in his eye. I cringed at the cheesiness of that thought.

“Yep. I’ve been done for ages!” he boasted casting a pointed glance at Louis, Liam, Niall, and Zayn. The other lads began to protest.

“Hey! We’ve been busy! How did you even manage to get your shopping done?” Zayn whined.

“I did it over Thanksgiving.”

“I haven’t even started yet!” groaned Louis. “Luckily, I know what I want to get everyone, so it shouldn’t be too bad.”

“I haven’t the foggiest idea of what to get my family,” Liam admitted. I patted his shoulder.

“Just think of things they like. I’m sure they’ll love whatever you get for them.” He nodded and I could tell he was already contemplating his gift list.

“I’ve got my shopping done as well,” Niall said. I loved his Irish accent. I found it so precious.

“I’m done also,” Lucy said. I had been done with my shopping for a while now, too. I smiled when I thought of the gifts I had gotten everyone. I knew they were going to love them. I had also gotten Louis’s birthday gift.

We continued to walk the streets until Zayn began to complain about the cold. This encouraged agreement from the others, so we headed back to our complex. By this time, Harry and I had moved all of my stuff from my flat to his. He had been so excited and I had to say that the thought of going home to our flat still made me smile.

We reached the complex and separated.

“Bye guys! See you in a bit,” Liam said and headed inside. The others said their goodbyes and headed to their own flats. Louis, Harry, and I walked into the warmth of our own. I hung my coat on the rack and fell onto the couch. I stared at the ceiling, too comfortable to move.

Harry lifted my head and replaced it in his lap. He flipped on the tv and absently ran a hand through my hair. I was in danger of falling asleep.

“Do you have any plans for tonight?” Harry asked me. I opened my eyes that had closed of their own accord.

“Of course not, why?”

“Well, I want to take you out on a date. The whole time we’ve been together, we haven’t been on a proper date.”

I sat up and hugged my knees to my chest. I hadn’t realized that we’d never had a proper first date.

“Go get ready,” he said as he pushed me off the couch.

“What should I wear?”

“What you normally wear. You always look beautiful.” I put my hands on my hips.

“Dressy? Casual? Snappy casual? Formal? What do you want mister?” I asked. He chuckled and thought about my question.

“Dressy.” I nodded and turned into the room.

“Wait! Let me grab my stuff first.” He darted into the room. “Don’t peek!”

I heard him rummaging through drawers and the closet before he ran past me.

“Okay, now you can have it!” he yelled over his shoulder. The bathroom door banged shut and I shook my head. The boy was crazy, but I loved him. I closed the bedroom door and began to prepare for our first date. I called Lucy, needing her input.

“Hello?”

“Hi Luce. Would you mind coming over to my place? I need your help picking out an outfit.”

“An outfit for what?” she asked, but I could hear her door slam shut in the
background.

“Harry and I are going on our first date.” I giggled. I was getting nervous.

She squealed into the phone. “Of course! I’ll be right over.”

The line went dead. A knock came three minutes later. I rushed to answer before Harry could.

“Hi.”

“Hi. Let’s get you ready, girl.”

She pulled me into the bedroom and shut the door once more. She turned with her hands on her hips to survey me. I let her work her magic. She had a killer fashion sense and I trusted whatever she would pick out for me.

“Here.” She handed me an outfit. I quickly slipped into and sat on the bed to put on my makeup as she did my hair. I spritzed on my perfume and surveyed myself in the mirror.

“Wow Lucy, this is incredible!” I breathed. I had to admit, I looked sexy. She smiled in satisfaction.

“Of course it is. You look hot.” I grabbed my clutch and opened the door. Harry was leaning against the counter, his hands deep in his pockets. I heard him catch his breath as I walked out. My own caught as I took in his appearance.

“You look breathtaking,” he said as he pecked my lips.

“You can thank Lucy for that. This is her handiwork. You look handsome yourself,” I said. He took my hand and led me out the door into the crisp night air.

“Go on you two. Have fun!” she said as she closed the door behind her. I looked over my shoulder at her.

“Thank you,” I mouthed to her. She winked.

“So where are you taking me?” I asked.

“It’s a surprise.” I smiled in anticipation. I loved surprises.

About an hour later he pulled into a Japanese restaurant. I sucked in a breath.

“Dinings?” It was a pretty expensive restaurant.

He opened my door, “Of course, only the best for my love.” I rolled my eyes but smiled. I took his hand as he helped me out of the car. We walked in the door and
the host smiled.

“Name please?”

“Harry Styles. Could we possibly get a private booth?” he asked. Realization dawned on the host’s face but he didn’t say anything. I was grateful for his discretion.

“Of course, sir. Please follow me.”

Harry’s hand never left mine as we followed the man to a quiet, private corner of the restaurant.

“Is this alright?”

“This is perfect, thank you so much,” I said. He nodded and handed us our menus.

“Your waiter should be with you shortly,” he said and walked away. I opened my menu and took a quick browse. A young man walked up to our table shortly after.

“Hello. Welcome to Dinings. My name is Lance and I’ll be your waiter for tonight. Can I get you two started with some drinks?” He was so polite.

“Can I get a glass of water and an iced tea?” I ordered. He shook his head and looked at Harry.

“I’ll have the same.” He nodded his head again.

“And are you two ready to order?”

I looked at Harry and he nodded. Lance pulled out his notepad and looked at me.

“Ladies first.”

“I’ll have the yellowtail sashimi salad with the sesame ginger dressing?” He nodded again and jotted down my order. I closed my menu and waited for Harry to order.

“And for you, sir?”

“Can I get the house special sushi and the king crab sashimi, please.”

“Of course. We’ll have your food right out for you.” Lance took our menus and
walked back to the kitchen.

“This place is incredible.” He smiled.

“I’m glad you like it.”

“Your orders, sir, ma’am.” I smiled at the waiter.

“Thank you.”

“Can I get you anything else?” We shook our heads.

“Enjoy your meal.”

“That was suspiciously fast,” I said and picked up my fork. Harry laughed.

“I think my name might have something to do with it.”

“Really? The thought never even crossed my mind.” He laughed again.

We finished our meal, the ambience of the place adding to the mood. Harry paid the bill but didn’t let me see the total. He spoiled me. He grabbed my hand and we headed back out to the car. I smiled as he opened my door for me.

“You’re such a gentleman,” I said as he sat down.

“Why thank you. I try.” I laughed as we pulled out of the parking lot.

“Thank you for tonight. It was wonderful.”

“You’re welcome, anything for my girl.” I looked out the window as I felt my cheeks heat up. He could still make me blush like we just met.
