Fear

Chapter One

~Kirsten P.O.V~ I sat in the backseat of my fathers car depressed. My head was propped on my hand looking out the window. We had just moved from London to Holmes Chapel and I was dreading our new life. Why should I have to switch schools to make my father happy?

"Are we there yet?" My sister, Chanel asked annoyed.

We were crammed into the backseat together. We kept a space in the middle of us and only used the space to stretch our legs if we needed to.

"You say that every ten minutes. NO!" My brother Johnny yelled turning around in his seat.

"Why doesn't everyone just stop talking?" I asked looking at them both.

"Shut up," he told me rudely.

Since I was sitting behind him, I wrapped my arm around his neck and punched him with my left hand. He struggled to fight me back and yelled for me to let go. Chanel leaned over an started hitting him too.

My father yelled at us, his voice shaking the car making us stop immediately and sit back in our seats.

"We are almost there. There's nothing wrong with a bit of change, guys. What's wrong with Holmes Chapel?" My father asked.

"Well, for one its boring," Chanel started.

"And it's a small town," I exasperated.

"I quite like it," my brother shrugged.

"That's because Sutton lives here. You're in love with Sutton," Chanel rolled her eyes.

Sutton was a girl we had met while visiting my Aunt and Uncle. She was a good friend to my cousin, Bella. They had just moved here last year, so when my father received a job promotion, he thought Holmes Chapel was a perfect way to 'reconnect' with family.

"This is gonna suck worse then the time dad was scared to go on the roller coaster at the amusement park," I commented.

"If I go on that ride I'll die and you guys will be orphans and mourning," Chanel impersonated my father.

We all laughed including my brother and father at the memory.

"And when he got on they had to stop the ride!" I added laughing.

"Because he was screaming too loud!" Johnny laughed.

As our laughing calmed down my father turned our car into an empty driveway. The house was big and beautiful. It looked as if it housed more rooms than the four we required.

"Wow," Chanel and I said simultaneously.

"Woah," Johnny said happily at the new house.

He leaned his head forward to get an even better view of the whole house as did Chanel and I. We jumped out of the car and ran as fast as we could to the front door which wasn't fast because our legs were like jello from the three hour car journey.

We urged our father to hurry with his keys. He opened the door and we awed at the inside of the house. The living room was fully furnished. On the right wall was a huge television that took up almost the whole wall. There were two couches facing each other in the middle of the room with a coffee table in the middle of them. On the wall that was directly in front of us was a fireplace with a mirror on top of the brick. Be side that were stairs that slightly curved up into the hallway upstairs.

There were two chairs on the side of staircase elegantly decorated like the couches. On our left was the kitchen that mostly glass and red.

We ran up the stairs to pick our bedrooms. We noticed our rooms had our names painted on the door. I walked to the door with Kirsten painted orange on the light blue door and opened it slowly. I opened it to reveal a black and white colored room.

The bed was black with black and white lace on the endings. The pillows were black with white endings. The headboard was black with white dragons around it. I lifted the sheets to see the same black and white lace in a flower design.

On the left wall was a huge window in a square shape that showed the front lawn that was covered in flowers. The wall where my bed was was black and the wall where my door was, was black also. The two other walls were white. On my black wall where the bed was, was a portrait of Marilyn Monroe with her famous black gloves.

The white wall on my right had a desk with a white iMac sitting on top of it with a bow. The white wall also had a quote from Marilyn Monroe. In cursive black letters it read:

"Imperfection is Beauty, Madness is Genius, and it's better to be absolutely Ridiculous, then absolutely Boring."

"He remembered," I mumbled to myself.

I was happy that my father had remembered my idol and my favorite motto. I was happy he remembered my favorite colors. I was just happy. I threw myself onto the bed on my back with my body in an 'X' and heard silence. I was finally at peace.
