You're Still The One

Chapter 2

I swiped my phone from the empty space next to me, seeing Sean's name displayed across my screen. I routinely ran my fingers across to unlock it. Previously, I had asked Sean if it would be okay if I came over a little early because he knows exactly how I feel about Harry and doesn’t want me to be around someone who makes me so uncomfortable.

His reply being:

From: Sean

Of course babe and no ones home. ;) x.

I smiled as if he and I, were face to face, tossing the phone to my bed that was cluttered of magazines, catalogs, brochures and love novels. As I brushed my artificially bronze colored hair into a ponytail, I noticed my mum about to enter my bed room and speaking on the phone, probably to someone pertaining to Melissa’s wedding.

“Where are you going? Harry and Anne will be here soon.” Mum whispered, loud enough for me to here. She pulled the phone from her ear and slapped her hand over the receiver. To protect the person from hearing whatever disrespectful remarks flew out of my mouth regarding Harry.

“I know which is why I'm going to Sean’s. Tell Anne I said hello.” I said, hurriedly leaving my bedroom. Mum only followed me and kept nagging me about how Harry would be bored, if I weren't here to entertain him.

“He entertains other people for a living, and he can't entertain himself?”

She frowned.

“I'll see them tonight at the dinner rehearsal... love you, bye!” I said quickly rushing out of the front door to avoid any more unwanted conversation about Harry. I wasn't ready for this. I wasn’t ready to see him again, to talk about him again. I simply wasn't ready for him to come back.

I sighed as I started to walk down the usually quiet streets of Holmes Chapel which were surprisingly crowded and noisy. Sean didn't live too far from where I lived. In fact, I was standing right in front of his home it took me literally two minutes to get to his house.

“Like OMG, Harry Styles is in town!!” Sean’s masculine voice teased, struggling to mimic the voice of a highly hormonal teenage girl. His ridiculousness was the cause of my laughter. Quickly turning my focus to the half-dressed boy that stood at the door, my mouth hung open in awe. A towel wrapped around his bottom. I bit my lip, enticed, as I watched water glisten down his toned chest.

“He's going to be at the rehearsal dinner tonight... and the wedding.” I admitted once I was inside and we were in the comfort of his bedroom.

“Are you okay with that?”

“Of course I am because I’m totally in love with him!” I muttered sarcastically, as I watched him get ready to leave out. He smirked, knowing that I enjoyed watching him dress. Then, he plopped himself on his bed, right beside me.

Sean, like everyone else, doesn't know the truth behind Harry and my story. I just don’t want to freak him out or scare him off so I simply avoided telling him. He's just as clueless as everyone else. All he knows is that Harry hurt me. And for that, he dislikes Harry just as much as I do.

“But none of that matters because I'll have you there with me.” I smirked kissing his lips, swiftly. Sean shifted his body, adjusting to the way my body was positioned so that way he was on top of me. His tongue forced its way into my mouth dominating mine, unflatteringly. His hands gripped the hem of my shirt, tugging on it impatiently.

I groaned in displeasure.

“Sean, stop!” I demanded, while his lips were still fiercely clinging to mine. Ignoring my simple request, he pressed his lips firmly against my neck in protest. He was desperately nipping at it and sucking, when I felt his teeth harshly abrade the sensitive skin. I pressed both of my hands to his chest, urging him off of me.

“What the hell's the matter with you?!” I shouted ferociously. I felt the heat in my cheeks rise. “I asked you to stop!”

“What the hell is wrong with you, Charlotte?”

Sean was fuming. His deep auburn eyes implemented his squarish face as he continued to yell at me.

“I’m trying to be patient with you but it’s been almost nine months and you’re still not ready.”

Speechless, I dropped my head. I just couldn’t reply.

Even, I, myself thought it was horrible that I couldn't engage myself in things with Sean, like couples do. But, Harry was the only person I’ve ever gotten that intimate with and when we did, it meant so much to me. It’s bad enough that I compare Sean’s touch to Harry’s touch, Sean’s kisses to Harry’s. I don’t need to compare their sex too which explains why I prefer not to have sex with Sean.

I love him so much but, let’s face it, he’s no Harry.

“Whatever Sean, I guess I’ll see you tonight,” was all I could say after that. Sean wanted to say something to me, I know he did, but he chose not to. Instead, he let me go.

I scurried downstairs and out the front door.

Several minutes later, I reached the safe keepings of my own home and there was nothing I wanted more than to crawl into bed and be left alone for a while.

I busted in the front door to see the green eyed monster himself, sitting on my couch, stuffing his face with my snacks and watching my television with his curls tousled over to the left side of his face, his charming grin, displeased me. That’s only because even with a mouthful he still looked undeniably attractive. How was it possible that he look ten times better than he did a year and a half ago?

Ugh, these fucking emotions.

“Charlie?” he mouthed.
