The Start of Something Beautiful

Big Announcement

“I really can’t stay.”
“Baby it’s cold outside.”
“I’ve got to go away.”
“Baby it’s cold outside.”
I giggled as Harry continued to sing along from our room as I put the finishing touches on the tree. The evergreen was adorned in red and gold; sparkling from top to bottom. It was a master piece if I said so myself.
Today was the day that we would announce to the boys that we would be welcoming another member to our family. My pregnancy had been going very smoothly, I was almost three months along and I was just beginning to show the slightest bit. The morning sickness had gone away and now I was just enjoying being pregnant.
The tour had just ended the day before and the boys had made it home that night. Harry and I decided to invite the boys and their families over for an early Christmas dinner since we would all be off visiting families closer to the holidays. We thought what better time to share the news than then?
The red lace dress I wore showed my small bump making me smile. Surprisingly enough, I didn’t feel like whale, I felt absolutely beautiful, Harry wouldn’t let me feel otherwise. Even at two and a half months along, he was the most helpful to me, I couldn’t thank him enough.
“Babe?” Harry called from our bedroom before appearing in the doorway of the kitchen where I was. “Have you seen my watch?”
“Did you check in the car where you left it last time?” I asked as I set out the turkey that had been cooking all day.
The door clicked shut as Harry walked out into the cold December air to retrieve his watch.
“Your daddy needs to learn to keep up with his stuff.” I murmured stroking my little bump.
The food looked delicious, I was ready to devour it all as I set the last tray of food out on the island.
“Uncle Hawwy!” Little voices squealed. I poked my head around the corner to find Harry wrestling with the little Horan twins, Lincoln and Lucas making me giggle at the cute sight. Niall and his wife Jordan followed shortly after carrying in more food and greeting me with warm hugs. Harry finally placed the twins down and they took off running towards the den.
“Um, excuse me little misters.” The blonde two-year olds turned their heads to me, big blue eyes staring at me innocently. “I need my kisses!” They giggled before running over to me so I could pepper kisses on their adorable little faces. Before they let go, they each left a big sloppy kiss on either of my cheeks.
“Hello, hello!” Louis’ voice came through the foyer. He and Eleanor appeared around the corner, their son William dashing past them to play with the twins while their small daughter Sophia clung to Louis like a koala bear.
“Hi!” I called from my place in the kitchen. Eleanor and Jordan joining me to help with dinner preparations.
Soon, Liam, his wife Maia, and their son Christian arrived along with Zayn, Perrie, and their two daughters Jasmine and Zoe. We had a full house, but we wouldn’t have it any other way, we loved having everyone under the same roof, even if it was chaotic.
While the girls and I were in the kitchen, I noticed them all eyeing me suspiciously. Ignoring them, I continued to ice the cake in front of me, hoping they hadn’t noticed the change about me yet.
When everyone made their way into the dining room for dinner, I stayed behind in the kitchen making sure everything was set out. Arms wound themselves around my waist, hands placed on my tummy, lips pressing a gentle kiss to my cheek, Harry’s scent taking over my senses. I smiled continuing with my task. “May I help you?”
“You look beautiful, love.”
I blushed, pressing a kiss to his cheek and then to his soft lips. “Thank you.”

After dinner, the kids rushed off to play while the adults stayed around in the kitchen chatting. Louis had brought a nice bottle of wine to celebrate another successful tour pouring some in a flute for each person.
“To another amazing tour, it’s been fun lads.” Louis raised his glass and everyone followed before sipping the wine while I placed mine on the counter in front of me. Harry’s arm wound around my waist as he sipped the drink.
“No wine Tay?” Maia asked sloshing the red liquid around.
“I’m not drinking, um, I haven’t been for about three months now.” I replied earning an encouraging squeeze from Harry. The eight of them eyeing me suspiciously as I tried to find the words as excitement built up in me.
“Are you going to alcoholics anonymous?” Jordan joked earning a laugh from the group, including me.
“No, um, I’m pregnant.”
The room fell silent as smiles made their way onto each of our friends’ faces. Glasses were placed on the island before Harry and I were engulfed into hugs and congratulations were showered on us.
“I called it!” Maia shouted before Louis countered with his claim that he did. I rolled my eyes at their playful antics. Everyone was buzzing with the news and I knew that this baby would have four aunts and four uncles that would love them unconditionally.
Harry pressed a kiss to my temple before placing a hand on my bloated stomach. Leaning into his embrace, I smiled feeling all the love in the room. My life was truly perfect, and this baby would only make it even better.
