Jessica's P.O.V

"Bye Jerry! I'll see you tomorrow afternoon." I yelled as I walked out of the diner I worked at.

"Bye Jessica! Be careful walking home!" He yelled back. I just waved him off with my hand and walked outside.

The rush of cold air made me shiver I pulled my jacket around me tighter and started to walk home. There was basically no one on the streets tonight, but it is Sunday so everyone was probably sleeping because they had work tomorrow morning. I started to walk across the street to go to my house, but then I walked passed an alley and I heard faint crying. My gut twisted up, there could be something bad going on down that alley,Maybe I should go check it out. I slowly made my way down the alley, I couldn't really see anything I decided to pull out my phone to use it as light. I shined it around, I shined it in a corner I barely saw a figure of a person. I walked towards it and the cries became louder. I was no standing in front of the figure, he or she was laying on their side I can't tell it too dark, I shined my light down and saw it was a girl. I think she is around my age.

"Um, excuse me. Are you okay?" I said kneeling down by the girl. She turned around and looked at me, her face showed fear. "I won't hurt you I promise." I said softly, I laid my hand on her shoulder she jumped I slowly pulled my hand away.

"W-w-who are you?" She stuttered.

"I'm Jessica, I was walking home from work and I heard you crying. Are you okay?" I asked. Her expression softened she must trust me now. She looked away and shook her head. "Do you want to come home with me?"

"Ummm. I-I don't know." She said slowly.

"It's okay I don't bite." I said giving her a smile. She looked back at me and shrugged. "Good, c'mon my house is just across the street." I said getting up and holding out my hand. She took my hand and stood up she immediately let go and looked around. I guided her across the street into the apartment building. We walked up four flights of stairs, I walked up to my door and unlocked and opened the door. I looked back at the girl and she gave me a shy smile then walked into the house. I walked in behind her and shut and locked the door. She walked to the living room and sat on the couch, I walked to the kitchen and got a glass of water and brought it out to her . I handed her the water and she took it from me and drank the whole thing.

"Thank you." She said quietly.

"No problem and may I ask what is your name."

"I'm Raleigh." She replied.

"Well nice to meet you." I said giving her a smile, she returned the smile.

"Nice to meet you too. If it wasn't for you I still would be out in the alley right now." She said looking back down at the cup in her hands.

"Would you like to take a shower?"

"Yes that would be great." She replied setting the glass down on the table.

"Alright I'll get you a towel then after you get in I'll grab you some clothes to wear."

"Once again thank you." She said as she stood up. I stood up and showed her where the bathroom was, I grabbed her a towel then she went in. I walked towards my room and grabbed a her an old band t-shirt and some black sweats. I opened the bathroom door and set the clothes on the counter. I was going to make her some food until I heard my phone ring. I ran towards the living room and grabbed my phone out of my purse. I smiled as I saw Harry's name flash across the screen.

"Hello." I said happily.

"Hey Jess!"

"What did you call for Harold?" I said teasingly, I heard him chuckle.

"I wanted to know if I can come over."

"Um I don't if that's a good idea." I said a little quieter.

"Why not?" He asked sounding kind of sad.

"I found this girl in an alley I don't know if I brought another person if it would overwhelm her, but you can come by tomorrow morning. She might be a little better by then." I replied, I heard him sigh of relief.

"Okay see you tomorrow morning." He said before he hung up. I smiled at my phone and shook my head.

"Um.. Where can I sleep?" She asked nervously.

"Oh um let me grab you some blankets and I can make you a bed on the couch." I said walking over towards the closet and grabbed out some blankets. I walked over to the couch and set her up a bed. "Here you go. Do you need anything else?"

"No I'm fine thank you. For everything."

"It was nothing. Goodnight Raleigh ."

"Goodnight Jessica."
