Like Crazy (Harry Styles & Niall Horan AU)

Chapter Six

I fished around in the fridge looking for the orange juice. I was going out with Niall tonight, and I was beyond nervous.
What if i did something or said something dumb?
Niall seemed so cool, and it came so effortlessly.
I heard the phone ring, but ignored it as I poured my juice into a cup.
My hair was a mess and I still had my pajamas on, so I retreated back to my room.
I set my orange juice down as my phone went off.
Nialler: can't wait to see you tonight(:
I
smiled and replied.
Lilly and I had thought of a way to get us both out of the house. We had said her and I were going to 'study' with Hannah, when really Hannah and Lilly were going to someone's house party, Louis' I believe, and I was going out with Niall.
I didn't know where we were going, but if it was with Niall I didn't care.
I felt like I was too into him for as long as I had known him, which scared me a little.
I hated lying to my parents, but who I date should be my choice and if dating Niall meant lying to them, then so be it.
Suddenly my mother swung my door open.
"Uh hi," I said, confused.
"That was Melinda on the phone!" She smiled.
"Oh," I responded, not exactly sure where she was going with this.
"You and Harry are going out again tonight!" She said.
The first thing that came to mind was Niall.
I had wanted to go out with him so badly, and now my mother was ruining not only mine but Julia's and Hannahs night.
She wasn't just ruining the night, she was ruining my life.
HARRY'S POV:
Mom had just gotten off the phone and I was currently fighting the Nutella unwilling to spread on my toast.
I ruffled my hair, walking to the table as my mom clicked into the kitchen.
"That was Emily!" She smiled.
I raised an eyebrow.
"You and Julia are going out tonight!"
Seriously?
Things between me and Julia have been kind of weird. I hadn't talked to her since she found me in her closet. Since I had wondered if I... Felt something.
I assured myself I didn't, but deep down, I couldn't deny that a piece of me liked Julia.
She was sweet, kind, smart, clever... I shook my head, snapping myself out of it.
"Okay," I responded quietly.
"Don't you like Julia?" She asked.
"No, no I do... I just don't think she likes me back," I responded quickly.
Well, it was half true.
"Of course she likes you back, now don't be absurd," She ordered.
I looked away.
Walking into the kitchen, I put my dishes away and walked to my room, putting my head in my hands.
JULIA'S POV:
"I'm really sorry," I sighed. "It's not your fault. I know your mom," Lilly replied.
I knew she understood but I felt terrible.
Earlier i had thought I liked Harry, but I convinced myself I didn't. He clearly had a thing for that girl- Makenzie- he danced with and I thought I liked Niall.
How would I tell Niall that I couldn't go out with him, That I was going out with Harry instead?
I'm sure he would understand it wasn't my decision... But what if he didn't?
"I better let Niall know," I grumbled.
I hung up.
I decided to text Niall instead of calling him, to avoid answering any other questions
To: Nialler: Im SO sorry, but can't make it tonight :( Something came up.
I sent the message and quickly set down my phone, worried about his reply
. -Hours Later-
I kicked on my heels and trotted down the stairs. I felt awkward seeing Harry again.
Niall said it was okay, and that hopefully we could do something soon.
I hadn't told him exactly why I couldn't go out with him, just that I couldn't.
I looked around, making sure my mother wasn't home and opened the door.
"Hey," I smiled.
"Hello," Harry smiled, stepping inside.
"Your parents home?" He asked.
"No, there out to dinner, should we go?" I asked quickly.m He nodded, leading me out to his car.
I should be with Niall right now.
HARRY'S POV:
I ran my hands through my hair quickly before getting in the car.
Julia was already sitting, her body turned slightly to the side, looking out the window.
She looked like she was thinking and I didn't want to interrupt her, so I started the car and we began driving in silence.
I decided to take her on a picnic.
Central Park was beautiful at night, so I figured it would be a good place to go.
The whole drive was silent, the only noise the screeching of breaks and honks of horns on the busy New York streets.
We parked and her gaze was still firmly locked outside the widow.
I went to open the door, but she didn't see me and opened it herself, whacking me in the stomach with the car door in the process.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" She gushed, talking for the first time in nearly ten minuets.
"It's okay," I choked out.
She had knocked the wind out of me, so I was leaning against the car trying to catch my breath looking like an idiot I was sure.
I stood up and lead walked into the park, Julia sheepishly following behind, clearly embarrassed by what had just happened.
We sat down in the grass.
Julia's eyes were clouded over with sadness. She still hadn't said anything and I was becoming fed up.
"Listen. I know we both don't want to be here, but you could at least talk to me," I snapped at her.
Her eyes looked into mine before looking back at the grass.
"No, it's not that. It's just this... Park," she whispered.
"Is something wrong? Because we can leave," Harry said quickly.
She wiped her eyes and shook her head.
"No, it's fine I'm sorry," She smiled. I nodded suspiciously, but didn't press the matter further.
JULIA'S POV:
We had finished eating and the sun was setting above the park, making everything look even more beautiful.

"Let's swing!" I suggested, pointing to the one empty swing open.
"There's only one," he stated, confused.
"Looks like your pushing me then," I smiled, racing to the swing ensuring I wouldn't be the one doing the pushing.
Harry smiled and caught up to me.
His hands gripped the chains of the swing on either side of me, as his hair tickled the side of my head with his close proximity.
He pulled back and let go in one swift motion.
I closed my eyes as i flew up high and came back down again.
The feeling was exhilarating, and my back tingled every time Harry's hands pressed firmly into me.
The swing next to me had cleared and Harry sat on it.
"Bet I can go higher," he challenged.
I smiled.
"Bring it on,"
Harry was going slightly higher than me but I wasn't about to let him win.
"Bet I can jump further," I added.
He raised an eyebrow.
"Prove it,"
"On three?" I asked. He nodded.
"One... Two..."
"THREE!" He shouted, and we both shot off of our swings, into an entangled mess on the grass below us.
We were both laughing uncontrollably, and had landed basically on top of each other.
"I think I won that," I informed him.
"I think it was a tie," he corrected me.
I moved over so I was just barely in front of Harry.
"Now I won," I said.
He laughed.
"I'm very competitive," I told him.
"I see that," he smiled. We were both trying to stand up at the same time.
I looked up into Harry's eyes.
Our faces were inches apart, his eyes flicked down to my lips and back to my eyes.
It felt like the first time we had met in my kitchen, his piercing green eyes searching mine.
My lips slowly brushed his. I felt Harry moving closer.
"Julia?" A voice asked in disbelief from behind.
Harry and I instantly pulled away, quickly standing up. I turned around and was face to face with Niall.
"N-Niall," I choked out.
"This is why you couldn't go out with me?" He asked motioning to Harry and I.
"No, Niall you don't understand" I began, but he cut me off.
"I think i do. You said had no feelings for Harry!" He said.
I looked over at Harry, who looked hurt.
"Niall I wanted to go out with you..." He shook his head.
"It wasn't my choice!" I cried.
"Well it Looks like you were having a good time to me. Bye, Julia" he said, walking away.
I turned to Harry. His face was blank but his eyes were dark. "I'm sorry," I whispered.
"Don't be. I have no feelings for you, and you clearly have none for me," he said.
I looked at the ground.
Harry thought I absolutely hated him.
"Let's just leave,"
Harry's POV:
"You said you had no feelings for Harry," Niall's words rung through my head.
How could I have been so stupid?
Minuets ago we almost kissed, and now she never even felt Anything?
I shook my head. I couldn't keep going out with Julia.
We went out, had a good time, didn't talk for days and then went out again when our parents decided we should. It was starting to get to me.
We arrived at Julia's house and I didn't even get out of the car.
"Bye Julia," I said.
"Bye, Harry" she returned, getting out of the car.
I drove home quickly, wanting nothing more than to just go to sleep.
It was dark out, so I carefully walked up the stairs, blindly reaching for the door knob.
"Harry?" I heard a voice ask from the side walk.
I jumped.
"I'm sorry," She laughed.
It was Makenzie.
"It's okay," I said, still on edge from the catastrophe in the park.
"I was just walking home from work, I didn't know you lived here" she said. I walked down by her.
"Yeah," I smiled. "I do"
She looked me in the eye.
"Are you okay Harry? You look kind of.." I cut her off my smashing my lips to hers.
Her body stiffened surprised by my action, but she quickly responded.
"I'm perfectly fine," I smiled, kissing her again.
