Like Crazy (Harry Styles & Niall Horan AU)

Chapter Twelve

Julia's POV:

A look of confusion flashed momentarily over his face, before I came up to the chair he was sitting in, and put one leg on either side of him.
I hovered over his lap slightly, and pressed my lips to his, forcefully.
He reacted instantly, putting his hands on my hips and pulling me down onto his lap.
Well, I guess he wasn't mad anymore.
"I don't want Harry," I said, trailing soft kisses down his jawbone and neck.
"I.want.you." I continued.
He moaned softly and I pressed my forehead to his.
He smiled at me, "Im still mad at you,"
"No you're not," I told him.
"Hmm... But I am," he responded.
"No,"
"Yes,"
"Nope,
"Yup,"
I pressed a light kiss to his nose.
"Well what can I do to change that?"
Harry's POV:
I adjusted my tie in the mirror before heading downstairs.
I was being whisked away to yet another dinner party, and there was NO way I was getting out of this one.
On the bright side, it was at our country club so I would get to see Kenzie.
"Harry!" My mother shouted at me from the kitchen, "Are you ready to go?"
~~~
When we arrived at the country club, I scanned the place for Kenzie. I didn't see her anywhere, so I followed my parents to our table.
"Hey Jeff!" A taller man said enthusiastically shaking my fathers hand.
"Hey Max. This is my son Harry, and I'm sure you remember Melinda," My father replied.
"Of course. Good to meet you, Harry,"
It was the usual, everyone shook my hand, asked about college, and then ignored me and talked to my father.
I never understood why I had to come to these things.
"Hi there, my name is Makenzie and Ill be serving you tonight,"
My head shot up at the sound of a familiar voice.
I was sitting near the head of the table, and she was just to my right.
She smiled at me and I discretely winked.
"Can I start you all of with something to drink?"
~~~
Everyone ordered, and I watched Kenzie carefully as she filled glasses across the dining room.
"Jeff, is that Brian?" Max asked in disbelief.
"No way!" My father replied.
They excused themselves to go talk to this 'Brian', whilst my mother turned to look at me with a serious face.
"Uh what did I do?" I questioned quickly.
"Do you know that waitress?" She asked calmly.
"No... Not personally," I lied.
"Then what's with all the winking and smiling?"
Okay, I guess it wasn't as discreet as I thought it was.
"Nothing," I muttered.
"What about Julia? You two seemed to be doing really well," she questioned.
I nodded, "We are..."
I mean... I'm sure we would be...
"Then cut the flirting. She's a waitress for God's sake Harry," she said, disgust in her voice.
I nodded calmly, but inside I was raging.
Why was she being so judge mental? She didn't know Kenzie, and just because she's a waitress means she's a bad person?
I looked away from my mother, not wanting her to see the look on my face.
Max and my father retuned this time with another man, who I figured was Brian.
"Melinda! You remember Brian?"
Kenzie's POV:
I saw Harry's mom scolding him and instantly knew it was about me.
I couldn't hear what she was saying, but Harry clearly wasn't happy about it.
I didn't feel like going to their table again after that, so I traded with the bartender instead.
I really hated working the bar, because I almost always ended up getting either hit on or spilled on, but it was better than facing Harry's mother.
"Babe!" Someone called from the side of the bar.
I rolled my eyes, walking over.
"Can I help you?"
He waved his empty shot glass in front of my face.
I forcefully ripped it from his hands, retreating to fill it.
He was pissing me off already.
Once I did, I slid it back to him, making sure to keep my distance.
I continued serving up shots to a group of girls who seemed to be getting increasingly drunk.
I was wondering if it was safe to give them more alcohol, when thankfully they stumbled in the direction of the dance floor.
I looked at it whist fully.
It reminded me of when Harry and I had danced here... When he was with that girl.
I wondered whatever happened to her.
I was pulled out of thought when the screech of a barstool being pulled out caught my attention.
I groaned, looking at who sat down.
Was it too late to go back to serving Harry's scary mom?
"Hello.. Hannah," I said bitterly.
Harry's POV:
I looked over my fathers shoulder and saw Kenzie now running the bar.
I had an uncomfortable feeling, watching her.
Guys who hung around there were total douche bags, and if something were to happen, I couldn't protect her.
She uncomfortably served drinks to a swanky looking group of girls before they stumbled off to the dance floor.
Not long later, a girl sat down. A girl who looked oddly familiar...
"Harry!" My mother snapped, causing me to look away from the brunette.
"Hmm?" I lazily responded.
"We're leaving dear," I nodded, shaking hands with Max and Brian before following my parents to the door.
I stole one more glance at the girl at the bar before shaking my head and stepping out into the cold New York air.
