Forever and Always

Samantha's POV:

After a long day of shopping (I ended up getting nothing), I came to the flat and plopped down on the couch, exhausted. And I was about to be a bit more exhausted.

"Hi, Sam," Niall greeted me, sitting beside me. "Did you find a dress?"

"Um, no," I replied honestly, entwining my fingers and his. "Did you find a tux?" I teased playfully, smiling.

"Even better," Niall grinned, and in a slightly hesitant voice, he continued, "A flat."

"Wait, what?" I pulled my hands away and put them on my lap.

Niall raised led his eyebrows at the sign of my unaffection (I don't think that's a word but just go with the flow). "Well, it is more like a house. Because we're getting married soon. Why not live together now?"

"Maybe because it's too fast," I suggested, and in my head I thought, like getting married is too fast.

"It'll be fun," Niall said, his grin disappearing fast but still holding up.

"I'll think about it," I promised him, and after I pecked him on the lips, I went to my room and collapsed onto my bed, wondering what I had done. I screwed up everything.

*Dinnertime*

"Guess what?" Louis said, clinking his spoon against his glass. "Miranda and I are getting married!"

I can't dent that it didn't hurt me. It hit me as fast as a bullet and it hurt like I'd been struck like one too. I could feel the tears flooding to my eyes but luckily I kept it together. Sometimes I wonder why I'm not an actress.

Louis looked for my reaction and I smiled, mouthing congratulations. Louis looked away, looking somewhat disappointed, and Miranda uncomfortably tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she shrunk down in her seat, trying to ignore everyone's stares.

"Um, may I ask how you two became closer?" Harry inquired politely, and cooly stared at Miranda.

"We-I--" Miranda stammered nervously, glancing at her surroundings.

"We had an affair," Louis interjected, smirking. "At the time I was with Samantha, I cheated."

My emotions were way over the top, and my jaw dropped. Louis noticed my surprised expression and grinned triumphantly.

"You what!" Harry shouted, and threw his glass cup full of water at Louis. Louis dodged but still got soaked. "I can't believe--"

"Awful, Louis," Liam firmly said, glaring at his best mate. "You cheated how many times on Samantha?"

"What the fuck, Louis!" Zayn said angrily, throwing a piece of bread at Louis.

"You hurt Samantha some many times!" Niall yelled, slamming his fist against the table. "You fucking asshole!"

"Enough!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. The room fell silent, and everyone glanced over at me. My eyes blazed as I stood up to make my point. Louis, perplexed, twiddled his thumbs.

"I can't believe it," I choked out, and I tried to hold back the tears. I aimed my words at Louis. "I wouldn't care if you told me when we were in a relationship, but you disgust me. I can't believe I actually was liked you! But you kept hurting me over and over, not caring how I felt and how I feel now! You are a disgusting piece of crap, you know that Louis?"

Leaving the room, I couldn't restrain my tears anymore. Suddenly, I stopped when I heard Louis answer.

"You never cared about me, Sammie! Never! You always held me back from my full potential. You always held me back from my career. You make a big deal out of everything. Who cares if I cheated a couple of times? You're a waste of space, and care only about yourself," Louis spat out at me.

Deafening silence.

"No, Louis, you got it all wrong," I laughed bitterly. "I always cared about you. I care about everyone. And you held me back. I didn't go to university because of you, and when you were gone, I did go. And I loved you so much that I couldn't stand the thought of you with another woman. You're right. Maybe I am a waste of space. What a waste of years with you. Whatever. I'm getting the fuck out."

I left, slamming the door.
