Will You Stay?

Chapter 9

There was a knock on my door, and I slid it open. My heart stopped. The person standing in front of me was not Harry.
Jace.
I screamed as loud as I could, and he threw himself at me covering my mouth. I clawed and bit at his hand, but he was much stronger and had both my wrists in one hand. He looked as horrible, bags under his eyes, yellow teeth, and he smelled much worse than the last time we had met.
"Well. Glad I could catch you alone." His foul breath washing over my face. Oh I hated him so much. I tried screaming, but I was just wasting my breath, his hand muffled all noise I emitted.
He pushed me over so I was lying on my bed. His body was splayed out on top of mine, his legs preventing mine from moving. This didn't discourage me though, I still had a chance of getting him off of me.
"So, darling, did you miss me? I've been keeping watch on this house. Finally, I caught you alone. Where's Harry to save you now? Huh?" His taunting just made me even more angry. I bit his flesh as hard as I could, making him wince. It wasn't enough. I struggled and was able to knee him between the legs, not as hard as I would have liked, but it was enough to get him to release my wrists and my mouth. I screamed, trying to attract the attention of the neighbors. His hand was between his legs, clutching at where I hit him. I gave him a good right hook to the face, still screaming until my throat was dry. I tried my best to wriggle out of his grasp, but he had me pinned again within the moment. His hand was once again muffling my screams, and I saw something silver catch the light. He was holding it in his hand, and finally, I realized what it was.
Jace had a knife.
"You just couldn't shut that pretty little mouth of yours, could ya?"
I mentally cursed him.
He brought the blade to the underside of my wrist, putting the cold metal point against the pale flesh. Then, he dug the blade into my wrist, twisting it, and burrowing it deeper, until I was sure he had hit the bone. I screamed against his palm, biting down against the pain.
I didn't even hear another man enter the room.
****HARRY'S POV****
The reason I was walking towards Meadow's house was simple; I wanted to see her before she fell asleep. Then, I heard screams.
That was her screaming.
I ran through the front door (which was left open. Never a good sign) My heart was beating a mile a minute. I ran up the stairs, down her hallway, and into her room.
Jace.
He had a knife in her arm, and was dragging it through her flesh in all different directions. I didn't have time to think about anything else, I was already flying towards the beast. I grabbed him around his throat, yanking him off my girl. The knife was ripped out of her arm, and Jace had landed across the room. I took two steps toward him and kicked him, hard, in the stomach. He had lost his breath from the impact, but he was on his feet within seconds. He tried punching me in the eye, but I saw his move before he did, and blocked it. What I wasn't expecting was a kick to the stomach. His foot propelled me into the wall, hard enough to knock a little wind out of me. Meadow had gotten up, the knife in her hand. She threw the knife at him, but it only grazed his cheek. Jace was distracted for a moment. I kicked him between the legs, wincing as I imagined the pain he was in. Jace fell to the floor. I gave him a good kick to the face, hopefully giving him a black eye and broken nose. He moaned and rolled over on the ground.
"Meadow." I whispered running over to her.
****MEADOW'S POV****
My arm was burning. Blood was dripping onto my bed, but not as much as I would've imagined. Harry rushed to my side, helping me up.
"Come on, Meadow, I'll call the police, and we'll get you to the hospital." He looked nervous, but his hands were strong around my waist. He guided me down the stairs, and onto the couch. He ran into the kitchen, and dialed 911. I heard him talking on the phone, telling whoever was on the other line about Jace.
I heard Harry's footsteps rushing to my side, and helping me up.
"The police are on their way. But we have to get you to the hospital."
"No, we can't leave him here in my house!" He could find where we kept our money, or burn the whole place down.
"Meadow, the cops will be here in a minute, he won't do anything." He looked desperate.
"No! I'll be fine, it doesn't even hurt!"
"Meadow!" I knew better than to argue, but I already heard Jace stumbling down the steps.
Harry mumbled a curse under his breath. He met Jace by the fireplace. Jace was taller than Harry, but only by a couple of inches, but Harry was stronger.
What Harry didn't notice was that Jace had the knife in his back pocket.
Slowly, so I didn't attract their attention, I got up and inched my way to the kitchen. Once I was through the door, I grabbed some paper towels and pressed them to my arm, soaking up the blood. I rummaged through the drawers, looking for the first aid kit. When I found it, I threw all the contents out until I found the medical wrap. I worked as quickly as I could, wrapping my wound tightly. Then, through the sounds of the fighting, I heard it.
Someone had used the knife.
I rushed through the door to see blood on the shoulder of Harry's shirt, Jace standing above him. I grabbed the first heavy thing I could, a glass vase. Using all the strength I had, I chucked the vase at him, enjoying the sound it made as it shattered against his head. Jace fell to the floor, next to my Harry. I sprinted as fast as I could over to Harry. His breathing was quick, but he was conscious at least.
"Harry, I'm so sorry! Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" I tried as hard as I could to keep the tears from falling, but a few escaped. Harry hated when I cried. I looked at the knife still buried between his shoulder and bicep. There was blood seeping out of the wound, and there were bruises and cuts on his face.
"I'll be alright, Meadow." His usually deep and raspy voice was quiet.
"Yeah, you're right. We're gonna get you to the hospital, and they'll fix you right up!" I had taken first aid classes, and I knew I had to keep the victim calm, and tell them that everything will be okay. Thankfully, I heard the police sirens. Reluctantly, I got up, telling Harry I'll be right back, and went to the front door, letting the police in.

The police had already taken the unconscious Jace away, telling me to call an ambulance and stay with Harry until they arrived. They had taken us to the Emergency Room, and during the ride there, the medics had removed the knife from Harry's arm. I had already gotten my wound cleaned and had a couple stitches inserted. I was just waiting for Harry, and we could get out of here.

We were back at Harry's house, and I was cleaning up the blood stains on my bed, while Harry was resting downstairs. Jace hadn't done much damage to my room, so I didn't have to spend much time cleaning. I came back downstairs and sat down next to Harry.
"How are you feeling?" I questioned.
"I'm fine. Your friend keeps calling you." He mumbled, handing me my cell phone.
I went into the kitchen, and dialed Emily's number.
"Hello?!"
"Hey, Em."
"OH MY GOD ARE YOU OKAY?!" I had to hold the phone away from my ear, she was that loud.
"Yeah, I'm fine! You wanna come over? I'll tell you all about it."
"Yes! I'll be there in a second!" She hung up.
