Will You Stay?

Chapter 2

The next two weeks flew by. Every day, after English with Mr. Gorog was over, Harry would walk by Meadow's desk and say, 'Hey'. But today, well today was a little different. This time when Harry walked over, instead of a simple 'hey', he dropped a slip of paper in my hand, and said, "See you tonight?" I looked down at the paper and it said...

I'll pick you up tonight at six.
See you tonight. xx

I quickly grabbed my bag, and headed for my locker, thinking about the note. Where was he going to take me? Should I wear something fancy? Or something casual? Questions kept running through my head, until I ran right into Emily, knocking her books all over the ground.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, Em!" I exclaimed kneeling to pick up her books. My light brown hair falling into my face. "It's fine!" She said laughing. Once we stood back up, she said, "So what's on your mind? Is it Harry?" I had told her about how Harry would greet me at the end of each day, and she was always wondering if anything new would happen. I decided to tell her, saying, "Yes! He asked me on a date, tonight at six, but I don't know where we're going, or what we'll do!"
To my surprised, Emily screamed and hugged me so hard my back started popping. "Em, you're killing me!" I said. "I'm just so excited for you!" Em screeched in my ear, before letting me go.
"Come on, let's get outta here, and I'll give you some advice!" Emily had dated plenty of guys before, so I trusted her tips. We walked out of school, and headed back home. I listened intently to all her tips and information on what to do in different situations. I took about one million mental notes, trying to memorize everything.

Back at home I had already showered and told my mom I would be going out tonight. She nearly had a heart attack when I told her, which made me wonder, was it really that big of a surprise that I found a date? I mean, I didn't think I was ugly, I thought My wavy brown hair looked good, and that my blue-green eyes would sometimes shine. In the summer I would gain a trail of freckles from the tops of my cheeks and over the bridge of my nose. My teeth were straight after 2 years of braces, and they were surprisingly white for someone who had never bleached them and never wanted to floss. So, what I'm trying to say is, Is there something wrong with me? I didn't have much time to think because it was already five o'clock, so I was left with one hour for hair, a little makeup, and my outfit. I did a simple style for my hair, taking two parts of it and twisting the hair back, bobby pinning them in place at the back of my head. My hair was already naturally wavy, so I didn't have to do anything else with it. I put on an outfit that could pass as casual, and stylish. I chose light purple skinny jeans, a white laced top, and tan flats. I put in light rose earrings that I had received for my fifteenth birthday. I never liked wearing too much makeup so I put on black liquid eyeliner and mascara, only on the top. I gave myself one last look in the mirror, then walked back downstairs, and into the kitchen. I found my mom pigging out on a cheesecake that I didn't even know we had. "Mom! You had cheesecake and didn't tell me?" My absolute favorite dessert is cheesecake, and I couldn't believe she would hide it from me! She looked up guiltily swallowing the last bite. "Well, I wanted some, and normally you eat it all!" She tried to explain and prove she was innocent. "Oh no! You can't just hide my all time favorite dessert!" I argued back.
"Maybe you shouldn't always eat the whole thing before I get a bite!" We always had small fights like this, but they weren't real. They were mostly caused by me overreacting.
"A bite! You ate the whole thing!"
"No I didn't! It wasn't a whole cake!"
"Oh of course, it wasn't a whole cake! Then how much was it?" I could tell this argument would go nowhere, but it was my cheesecake!
"Well- I-It was only like, umm ya know-"
My moms alibi was interrupted by the doorbell ringing.
"We are not finished here, mother!" Those were my last words to my mom, as I opened the door to see Harry, standing on my doorstep. He was wearing a white tee shirt and jeans that looked like they were tighter than mine. "Hello, love. Ready to go?" He said with a smile. "Yep!" I replied as I grabbed my bag and closed the door. We walked to his Range Rover, and he held the passenger door open for me. "Thank you!" I said brightly. I wasn't expecting him to have such great manners. Most guys these days were nothing like this- or so I've heard from Emily. He got in the driver's side, and we started down the road. "So, where are we going?" I asked him.
"Well, I wasn't sure until about an hour ago," He admitted shyly, "But I thought we could go to the park, and take a short walk?" "Yeah, that sounds great." I smiled at him. He was so good looking, I couldn't believe my eyes. His smile made my heart flutter, especially when I saw his gorgeous dimples. I absolutely adored his British accent. He had moved to Panama City from Cheshire, England over the summer. I've always planned on going to college in England to study music. I've had many crushes before, but none of them had ever shown interest in me. This was definitely someone I wanted to get to know better.

We arrived at the park that overlooked the beach. We found a small pathway, and we took it.
"So what do you like to do?" Harry asked me.
"Well, I'm kind of a quiet person, I guess. I love going to the library, and reading, but I also love taking walks on the beach and in parks like these." I told him. "What about you?"
"Well, I'm not a reader like you, but I like going to the library for the quiet. I live in a house with my best mate. We've been friends for a long time since our parents were so close. We moved here together, and bought a house."
"What's your friend's name?" I asked him.
"Niall Horan. His parents used to live in Cheshire with my parents, but they wanted to move to Ireland once they were married. So a few years later, they raised Niall in Ireland, while I was raised in Cheshire. We visited each other twice a year, we would visit Ireland, and they would visit England. You'll have to meet him sometime, he's really a good guy."
"I bet he's a nice guy. Well, do you like music?" I asked.
"Yeah, what's your favorite type of music?" We got into a long conversation about music, finding out we both liked a lot of the same bands like Coldplay, and singer-songwriters like Ed Sheeran. I also learned that we both shared some of the same favorite movies, such as Titanic and The Notebook. We had so much in common, and I felt very depressed when it was time to take me back home.

We were back in my driveway, and Harry rushed around to hold the car door open again.
"Thanks for agreeing to this," He said with a smile, "I hope we can do it again, yeah?"
"Yeah, I had so much fun with you." I couldn't resist my own smile. He walked me to the front door, but before I could open it, Harry leaned down and gave me a quick kiss, but as soon as it happened it was over. "Goodnight, see you at school Monday." He said smirking.
"Yeah, s-see you at school." I stuttered.
All I could think as Harry walked back to his car was 'Wow'. I had the best time tonight and Harry even kissed me? Wow.
