When I Wake Up Next To You

Wishes

11:00pm January 12th Chicago, IL

"Ooooh...I think I ate too much pizza."

Three girls lay in a plain studio apartment in Chicago, clutching their stomachs, surrounded by empty pizza boxes and soda bottles. I was one of the girls, Alice Juliet, and the other two were my sister, Jenny, and our best friend Lucy. We had just gone on a movie-and-pizza-eating binge and were now suffering the consequences

"That's what you get for thinking with your stomach, Lucy!" I said with a laugh.

"Oh shut up, Alice. Like you didn't eat nearly half a pizza entirely by yourself." Lucy glared at me and her words were followed with a soda bottle thrown at my head.

I laughed again quickly dodging the Sprite bottle before it made contact and stuck my tongue out just to spite her. I glanced around the apartment and let out a sigh before standing up to start cleaning. Jenny got up as well, going over to the cabinets to grab a trashbag.

We looked absolutely nothing alike. While I had messy blonde hair - she had neat black hair. Where I had green eyes, she had brown eyes. Despite our physical differences, no one could doubt us being sisters as many people noticed we practically had a psychic link to one another.

"Come on lazy ass. You make a mess, you gotta help clean it!" I poked Lucy with the tip of my foot. Lucy groaned, rolling over onto her stomach and began to push herself up to a sitting position, grumbling the entire time.

"Hey! Gals, look. It's 11:11!" Lucy glanced at us with a smirk, "Make a wish!"

"That never works." Jenny said rolling her eyes as she shoved a pizza box into the trash, "It's just superstition."

"Don't be such a spoilsport!" Lucy said with a pout, "Fine, A.J and I will make one, riiiight?"

"Uh, yeah sure...?"

"Alright!" Lucy clapped her hands together, "Only a few more seconds ready...1...2...3!"

I closed my eyes and thoughts of wishes drifted through my head and I settled for the stupidest, silliest, and most impossible one I could think of.

I wish I'll wake up next to Niall Horan from One Direction..

"What'dcha wish for?"

I opened my eyes to see Lucy's face right infront of mine, her blue eyes wide and curious.

"Stupid," I said pushing her away, "You're not supposed to tell, otherwise it won't come true."

Lucy let out a whine, and pouted at me as she helped to clean.

"I bet it was something to do with One Direction." Jenny said tying up the trash bag and setting it by the door. She laughed and looked at with a smirk, "Am I right?"

See what I mean about the psychic connection?

"N-no..." I muttered, picking up the empty plates to take to the sink, "That'd be the stupidest thing to wish for."

"Which is exactly why you'd wish for it." Jenny and Lucy snickered amongst themselves as I turned red. What was I even getting upset about? It was just a dumb wish that wasn't going to come true.

"You gotta admit though," Lucy said sitting down again to relax, "Those boys are hella fine!"

Jenny shrugged, sticking her tongue out. She and I hardly had the same taste in men, and I laughed at her distaste despite the fact I found all the boys attractive.

"Fine then, who'syour favorite, A.J?" Lucy turned her attention towards me and I tried to wave her away before Jenny answered for me.

"That Irish blondie - uhhh, I think his name is Niel?"

"Niall." I corrected automatically, and cursed myself inwardly as both Lucy and Jenny giggled at me, "W-whatever! He's my favorite, so of course I know how to pronounce his name properly."

I had followed the boys since their X-Factor days thanks to the internet. I didn't really consider myself a "hardcore Directioner", I listened to the music and watched their videos when I needed to cheer up, but I didn't follow their lives down to the minute. Niall had been my "favorite" since the beginning, simply because I adored his voice and the way his face lit up every time he sang.

I let out a yawn and stretched, "I'm kinda tired, so I'm gonna head off to bed." I mumbled, making my way to my bed. I flopped onto the bed and shimmied my way underneath the covers and sighed as I curled up beneath them. I knew that wishing was stupid, but a part of me hoped that maybe... maybe the universe that worked in such mysterious ways would decide to grant mine.

---------------

I woke up to the sun blinding me. That was the first weird thing, considering Jenny always shuts our shades before going to bed because she hates the sun shining in in the morning.
I also felt someone laying next me, or rather... cuddling next to me.

Lucy... I thought blearily and lifted the blanket to tell her to scootch over.

Instead I was face to face with the sleeping face of a certain blonde-haired singer.
