Lilas' Laws

Back to your couch, Niall.

"Be careful with her!" An Irish accent slurred from what sounded far away. It was muffled, almost as if I were being shouted at underwater. I felt quite heavy, and all I could manage to see was darkness.

"Go back to your couch Niall." A familiar voice much closer sounded, and I suddenly felt myself moving, bouncing almost. I slipped back into unconsciousness, only to stir a few moments later when I felt myself laid against some type of soft material. I pressed myself further into the softness beneath me as I inhaled a musky forest smell that was actually quite addictive.

"Is she still sleeping?" Slurred the first voice again, still far.

"Couch Niall, go." The second voice ordered. A grumpy sigh came from somewhere before footsteps sounded and disappeared.

I shifted and willed myself to open my eyes, but only managed to for a mere second, hardly long enough to see anything at all. I wondered where I was, and thought I should probably try looking harder, but as sleep began to eat more at my body, I turned over and slipped back into the blackness. The sound of voices melting into a dream.

- - -

I hadn't even opened my eyes yet, and at this point, I really didn't want to. My entire head felt like an amphitheater as this non stop, pain inflicting headache rocked through it. I lifted my hand to my head and let out a painful sigh that ended up sounding more like a hiss.

After taking a few deep breaths and laying my head back, I managed to open my eyes. Only, what I awoke to was not my room. My eyes widened as I took in the dark navy walls, the very Ikea-esque drawer set, bedframe, and bedside tables and the many posters of nearly naked models that hung to the walls told me I had to be in guys room. Which was curious because it was nearly neater than my room, not a single parcel of clothing graced the black carpeted floors.

It was then I realized there was no one in bed next to me, and that I was fully clothed. And from the looks of the well made bed I slept in, no one had been in bed with me the entire night. I shrugged at how anyone else would think that was normal and shifted out of the bed. I quickly searched the room to see if I could find my heels, but they were no where to be found.

Forgetting them, I walked toward the door. As my hand wrapped around the door knob I heard faint voices. They didn't seem to be coming from directly outside the door, but more distant. Hesitantly I turned the knob, pulling the door open slowly and peeking my head out of the space.

I seemed to be at the end of a hallway, and after turning my head to the left I saw a TV flashing from what seemed to be a living room on the other side of the hall. The voices were louder now that there was no longer a door between us. As I listened, a wave of relief hit me as I recognized several of the voices.

More confident now, I closed the door softly behind me before padding quietly toward the living room. As I approached it was easier to make a distinction in the voices, and before long I could see exactly who was talking. I entered the living room and three of its four occupants looked up to greet me.

"Lilas!" Niall cheered from his place on the floor. He sat happily in the gap between the coffee table and the couch, a bowl of cereal rested in his lap as he smiled up at me. He wore his wrinkled shirt from yesterday, his bottom half covered with a bright blue blanket.

I smiled in return and took a glance at the other three people in the room. Liam and Harry sat on the couch above Niall, Liam also dressed in his outfit from yesterday, minus his coat and also looking a tad wrinkled. Harry, on the other hand wore sweats and a v-neck, his curly brown locks disheveled as he smiled up at me. Zayn, just like he had at my house the previous night, was fast asleep on the recliner, his mouth hanging open widely.

"Good morning Lilas," Liam said calmly, bringing a cup of water to his lips before asking, "Did you sleep well then?"

I stifled a yawn as I replied, "Quite well actually," I said as I moved to take a seat on the other open sofa, cris-crossing my legs in front of me once I had, "Where am I?"

All three boys gave a laugh, causing Zayn to stir but stay asleep. "Mine and Louis' flat," Harry answered, "I suppose what happened was you, Niall, Zayn and Liam decided to have some fun without us. After having a few drinks you four wandered out to the Drunkman's Park, and sometime during all of your socializing you managed to fall asleep. Luckily Liam wasn't as gone as the rest of you, and carried you here because it was a much easier trip than back up to their flat."

"I put you in Harry's room as per his insistence," Liam picked up, "And left you to sleep."

I smiled as Harry hit Liam for making him appear sweet, "I was merely trying to be a gentleman!" Harry defended, "I wasn't going to make her sleep on the couch, she's a lady! Nor was I going to make her sleep is Louis' room, they haven't even met. Plus I figured it was sort of made us even, she did let me sleep in her room once." Harry said with a smirk.

"Too bad you didn't get to keep her company this time aye chap?" Niall said after downing a spoonful of cereal, his eyes fixed on the TV screen in front of him as he smiled.

Liam snorted but it was Harry who replied, "Yes well you must know how I feel then huh Niall? If I do recall correctly, you were awfully protective of Lilas last night, followed Liam like a little puppy dog as he carried her to my bed." His expression was that of pure amusement.

Niall held a straight face as he stared at Harry before turning his attention back to the TV and stuffing another spoonful of cereal into his mouth, "Haven't a clue what you're talking about mate." He mumbled almost unintelligibly.

Harry, Liam and I all erupted in a fit of laughter, soon followed by the sound of a door opening down the hall. Within the next seconds, a boy stood in the hallway shirtless with nothing but a pair of boxers on, squinting his eyes and scratching his chest.

"What is with the ruckus?" The boy mumbled sleepily.

"Louis!" Liam exclaimed, "For gods sake put on some pants, you have company!"

Louis yawned widely, "Any company here at this hour deserves to see me in my underpants thank you," It was then, however, that his sleepy eyes landed on me, immediately becoming slightly awake, "Who's this bird then?"

"That's Lilas." Niall spoke, eyes still fixed on the TV.

My eyes stayed fixed on Louis just as Liam's and Harry's, watching him rather bemusedly as he digested the information. "Are you then?" Louis asked with a content frown, "Much prettier than the boys described you are miss. I'm Louis." He said with a sleepy smile, raising his hand from his place still in the hall.

"Pleasure to meet you Louis." I said with a slight laugh.

Louis gave me another sleepy smile, "I'm going to put on pants now," He said before turning around and disappearing back into the dark hall. His door shut and my attention turned back to Liam and Harry.

"So that was Louis." Harry said simply.

"Seems like a fine gent." I concluded with a nod of my head.

"Careful L," Niall warned, "Louis is already taken."

I smiled as I waved off Niall's comment, "Oh please," I scoffed, "As if I could be with anyone but you Niall. You're the only one for me." I winked as Niall smiled up at me brightly, amusement thick on his face.

"Except for me!" Harry sang.

Liam and I laughed as Niall flicked one of his Cheerios at Harry's face, hitting him right on the forehead. Harry responded by pulling one of the pillows from behind him, hitting Niall over the head, causing him to throw his - fortunately - empty bowl of cereal so it missed the rug by mere inches, bouncing off the hardwood floor and causing a loud noise.

Zayn's eyes snapped open, then squinted as he adjusted them to the light, "The bloody hell are you twits doing?" He groaned as he shut his eyes tightly.

Just then Louis reemerged from the hall, "You lot are loud, aren't you?" he asked loudly, before walking toward Zayn, "Zayn darling its time to wake up!"

I stifled a laugh as I watched Louis poke and prod Zayn's cheeks. After failing to swat his hand away, Zayn reluctantly opened his eyes, cursing at us all as he got up to go to the bathroom.

"He tends to be a little grumpy in the mornings." Liam explained.

I smiled as Niall got up to take his dish to the sink, Liam and Louis following after him to find something to eat, leaving me sitting with Harry in the living room. I fixed my eyes to the screen where Daniel Tosh was talking, focused on the way he talked about the latest idiotic video. I glanced over at Harry after a moment, surprised when I saw him looking back at me.

I raised an eyebrow which caused him to smile, "So I'm giving Liam, Zayn and Niall a lift back to their flat to get a change of clothes before they come back over to watch the game. I could give you a ride too if you'd like, you still plan on coming back right?"

I gathered all my hair together as I said, "Haven't got anything else planned." I twisted the hair tie around my brown locks and gave Harry a small smile.

He smiled back at me, then moved his eyes to the three boys in the kitchen. I watched as he watched them for a moment, then he shook his dark brown hair, his curls bouncing as he pushed the hair out of his bright green eyes. My eyes never left his face until his eyes bore into mine, they were quite pretty. In reply to his look of curiosity, I could do nothing more than smile back.
